One things, never put all your important archival files on just one hhd/ssd and routinely check them to make sure that no data has been corrupted, so if any data is found to be corrupted, you can make sure it's on a separate storage device again.

I don't know. I've been using both since they became available. So far I have never had a failure. That said for Back-up purposes I use an external Blu-ray drive and store the discs off site.

“Take our lead”? Saying that in between talking points sounds ridiculous.

Is there an affordable magnetic tape storage option for home use? They're the cheapest storage mediums available (other than the price of the tape drive)

My oldest Hard Drive is in a Humax Hard Drive Digital TV Recorder, and is 23 years Old !!! It has worked for hours every day and still Works OK. Now I have lots of Stuff with Hard Drives and None have ever failed. I have 2 Camcorders with SSDs and they Still work perfectly !!! I intend to get an X Box Series X with an SSD !!!

not helpful, I'm expecting that you would compare the SSD and HDD side by side just like your video title suggests, like who has the longer life expectancy and why, but your video only covered mostly SSD..

And, how will we install the Operating system in case the Optical drives & discs cease to exist since we always install the Os from Dvd or Cd by booting the system from it?
@youngslyy4516 Жыл бұрын
@@amitghosh6966 an OS ISO file from a USB thumb drive or SD card drive, which has been allocated to boot first from BIOS.

Can we save our important data on SSD for long term say upto 30 years without Corruption?
@sylvainh2o Жыл бұрын
A HDD that isn't being used and the disk isn't spinning could last 30 years but like the video said an SSD has a lifespan of maximum 10 years and will fail being used a lot or not at all.
