I'm a full-time photographer in the Netherlands and I'm planning on showing you a but more of my life as a photographer. Are you interested in photography? Are you looking for a free-online Photography course? Do you want to see the inside of a Photo Studio? Then please, watch my videos and subscribe to my channel!
I'm planning on sharing videos in which I show you my typical work-week as a photographer. I will give you tips & tricks concerning photography, photo shoots, backdrops, studio props, camera settings (iso, aperture, shutter speed, white balance), photoshoot outfits, photoshoot make-up etc.
Ik zal videos maken over camera instellingen (iso, sluitertijd, diafragma, wit-balans), studio achtergronden, fotoshoot outfits, fotoshoot make-up enz.
IMPORTANT
If you are interested in photographing newborn babies yourself I would highly recommend you to first learn about photography in general. Master you camera, photograph in the Manual mode, learn about aperture, iso, shutter speed, white balance, light and composition. Take photos of your friends (adults or very patient older kids) and make sure you don't have to think about your camera anymore when photographing babies. Learn about editing as well. Please, don't experiment photographing Newborn babies without training. Attend a workshop by an experienced and professional photographer with an expertise in Newborn Photography. Learn about the anatomy of babies and invest in good quality cameras, lenses and props. Babies are extremely vulnerable and small and their safety and comfort should be your highest priority. Start with simple poses and make sure you know and understand that many 'pinterest poses' are composites. Please, don't try this at home. If you want beautiful photos of your own Newborn Baby, I highly recommend you to hire a professional and experienced photographer who is trained and specialised in Newborn Photography.

Love your videos... thanks for posting them. I use a 24-70 f4 and it's my go to lens for families, headshots, weddings, newborn, etc. Pretty much everything. But I'd love to invest in the 24-70 2.8. Maybe sometime soon. :)

This is so helpful. I’ve been doing photography for a while and just getting into doing babies and families. I’ve had one newborn session and a 6 month session with the same baby. He was so awake and crabby during the newborn session and then a little bit spooked by my camera at the 6 month session. If you have any tips for these scenarios I will take them. I can also search if you’ve done videos on these things before. I’ve been watching you for a while now, but haven’t seen them all of course. :)

Thank you. For the newborn session I recommend to take it easy and slow. Make sure you're not in a hurry and neither are the parents. Go for simple poses where the baby is safe and comfortable. Try to 'read' the baby. Make sure he/she is not hungry, not too cold/hot and see if the baby prefers to be on his/her back/side/belly. Maybe try a simple wrap. Some close-up shots of the face, hands, feet, eye lashes. Otherwise have the parents hold the baby and take lovely photos where they're holding their baby. I would definitely recommend everyone starting with baby/newborn photography to first master your camera, learn how to photograph in the Manual mode, practice photographing family. friends, pets, nature etc. So during the newborn/baby session you're not messing with the camera anymore but you can spend all your attention on the baby. I would also recommend anyone to attend a newborn photography workshop where you learn about all aspects of newborn photography and understand poses before you try them. For the 6 month old I recommend using a little toy, sing songs, play peekaboo, have the parents stand behind you etc.

I like the way you wrap the baby, they don't look like they can't breathe. Sometimes it looks like others wrap babies so tight it may constrict their breathing, I've heard the baby making weird noises when wrapped so tightly.

Also when you open your Aperture to 1.8 how do you avoid the lens focusing on one specific point? I did this and found that the eyes would be in focus but not the hands.

Helpful, as always! Thank you very much for sharing your opinion! I have one question, if you don't mind :) what lens do you use for event photography? (as far as I know you, you do some wedding photography as well) I would be very rateful for your advice!
@FennaPhotography
@FennaPhotography 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! For events (weddings) I would use several lenses. Probably my 24-70 2.8 for the indoor ceremony, 105mm 1.4 sigma art for the photo session with the bride/groom, macro lens for the ring shots and/or maybe the 50mm for the getting ready photos.

Usually yes. If they're not relaxed, we take a break and spend some time for a feeding, diaper change or the parents spend some time holding and cuddling their baby until he/she relaxes. Then we continue
