@@ebear6555 I hope it helps you both (him with his sleeping problem, you with the stress of caregiving & also your interrupted sleep). Having been a caretaker for family members, I understand the exhaustion. I wasn’t able to get just glycinate b/c the shop was out, so I got a combo of glycinate, maleate, & citrate. I wasn’t as successful re: sleeping through the night after the first night, but I have now started postponing taking my magnesium until an hour or so before bed. The capsules I got recommend 3 per day, so I save at least 1 until late evening. Last night (first time I postponed the dosing) I woke up only one time, so I consider that a success! Also, at my usual spots for purchasing supplements (grocery store pharmacy & Walgreens drug store), I found only the usual magnesium oxide. That’s what I’ve been taking for years-since the doctor didn’t bother to tell me that there are multiple kinds of magnesium. UGH! The oxide is poorly absorbed (only about 4%, I think). I found the other kinds at The Vitamin Shoppe. I’m sure that GNC or some other specialty health food store would yield what you need. Good luck!

@@ebear6555 I have this brand: VegLife-Vegan Magnesium, Triple Source: Glycinate, Malate, Citrate. Recommended dose is 3 capsules/day, yielding 400 mg of magnesium, total. The only reason I got that one is that the store was out of the glycinate. I may try to get just glycinate next time since I’m primarily concerned with the improvement in sleep. For vitamin D3, I take Nature’s Bounty (50 mcg, which is 2,000 International Units). I just get over-the-counter at the grocery store. I don’t take calcium b/c I usually take a multi-vitamin & b/c I consume a whole bunch of dairy (milk, yogurt, butter, cheese). I hope that helps! Let me know how things go once y’all have taken the magnesium for a few days. Wishing you success, strength, & blessings!

I have felt that it is an invasive procedure with unknown consequences, even though the success rate in stopping AFIB is about 70% (after two procedures). I know when my episodes begin (chest sensations), and can tell pretty close when they end by checking my pulse. I have kept track of my episodes with a monthly calendar since about 2014, and they have been relatively constant in frequency and duration, and in my opinion tolerable. I have AFib and a number of other cardiac problems. After taking magnesium regularly for some time I have not noticed any more episodes (although I recognize AFib can be "silent"), with the same result for PACs. I take magnesium chloride in a liquid suspension ("ionic magnesium")--100 mg 2x/day. I mix it in about 6 ounces of low sodium V8 juice (which, by the way, is an excellent source of potassium--also good for the "ticker"). I am more than delighted with the result. Sadly, but not unexpectedly, supplementing with magnesium was never mentioned by my two cardiologists, my electrophysiologist, or my primary care doc. Sometimes one has to be one's own physician. Dr. Gupta is a wonderful exception to my experience with medical professionals and I wish I could clone him

Magnesium Taurate has been a miracle supplement for me. I have suffered from paroxysmal atrial fibrillation for more than 14 years. Been taking flecainide and a low dose of atenolol daily almost all this time. Those meds reduced AF episodes to 2 or 3 per year. But for the last 6 years have suffered from 3-4 episodes per month. I have been taking 800mg of Magnesium Taurate+ (Vitamin B6 added) for four months. I have not had an AF episode for four months. Nothing else has changed in my diet, exercise and med regimen. Yay! thank you Dr. Gupta.

I don't have Health Insurance, I am just at a place financially where I make too much money to qualify for affordable healthcare and I make way too little to afford anything currently available... (I'd have to sleep in my car) so I'm always looking for advice. My Blood Pressure is 150/95... It's been 145/85 for years, I'm 57 yrs old. In 2012 I ran a 1/2 marathon in 1hr 52mins but my weight fluctuates by 70 - 90 lbs... I'm currently taking it off again. I'm 5'11 250lbs. 2 years ago I got to 180 lbs and my Blood Pressure went down to 139/79. If you are ever in New York again I'd love to take you up on the offer you once made to speak with people who have concerns. Thank you so much for these Videos ! One extra thing that I can recommend for my clients (I am a clinical mental health therapist) when discussing anxiety and insomnia...that magnesium is heart healthy which is something I think we all need to keep our generator going as long as possible.

I was taking magnesium taurate for approx 18 months and it seemed to help a little, but then the price doubled so I thought I'd try the cheaper magnesium citrate and then forgot about it. A couple of weeks went by and I realised I hadn't had a single episode of afib (normally I would have it everyday). I monitored my heart for another week using my Kardia device and still no afib. Initially I didn't connect it to the magnesium but then I remembered I'd made the switch, so I checked the dates and found that my last episode occurred on the very day before I started taking magnesium citrate. I don't think it's a coincidence, it's incredible to me that I haven't had afib now for 3 weeks. Hopefully it continues like this.

I have alot of experience with magnesium citrate and magnesium taurate.....the taurate has b6 and taurine and different peppers added.the research says the key is the b6 and magnesium. By themselves they have a certain range but together the effectiveness is tripled. Do the research......I remember these episodes would start with a specific event. Like to many pushups or squats or a day with high anxiety

@@deedee2218 for me I go magnesium taurate. Then it seems that combination becomes ineffective. Then I'll go mag citrate and 10 mg or less of b6...then I seem to be really good...I think taking one all the time isn't as good as rotating....but all research says magnesium and b6 is the best way to go

Natural Calm magnesium is oxide, but it contains citric acid and when you mix it with water forms magnesium citrate. I have found it really helps me feel better! I have EDS and slow gut motility so its really quite helpful for me in that respect as well, but be warned if you don't have slow motility you may want to be careful with it as it will make you go!

What do you mean when you say ‘mix it with water forms?’ Drinking a glass of water after taking a tablet is good enough?

@@now2307 It's a powder that you mix into a glass of water, the powder contains magnesium carbonate and citric acid and when you mix it into water it forms magnesium citrate.

Why does it matter if magnesium penetrates the blood brain barrier? How does the brain benefit from direct exposure to magnesium? Seems the blood vessels is where it matters but that doesn't require crossing the barrier
