Well that man made a lot of sense. I have looked at quite a few videos on which Micro SD card I should be using for 4K video on my drone. Every other video I have seen has not been decisive or certain. This guy lays it out loud, clear and puts it simply in lay mans terms. Thank you for a very helpful and clear video. Looking forward to more of your videos.

Your ourstanding as I was looking for a sd for my Mavic Pro 2 as mine was to slow , went with the sandisc 128gb with a speed grade of 3. Price was excellent and that is what the manual recommended so I probably wont run out of usable space. but since its already ordered the next time I will get the 64. I was having issues in 4k that the sandisc was no fast enough as it was a speed 1 and a older card and went with the three. Your great,

Don't forget....for video (esp video that "loop" records), you'll want to also look at the memory type each card utilizes. Because, regardless of the the card's speed class, reliability, and longevity, are what we need in a micro SD card. To use a car analogy, which car would you rather have...a car that does 0-60 in 4.0 seconds, but will only do it maybe 500 times before the motor blows . OR, a car that does 0-60 in 7 seconds, at a min of 5,000 times before it even thinks about going south? And it may do it a whole lot more...depending on the build quality. And in regard to SD cards, this applies directly to the quality of the I/O (input/output) controller on the card, and the memory type. Everyone reading this should seriously consider looking for a card with an "MLC memory type", with an "Enterprise, or Industrial" I/O controller type. Personally, I avoid the Sandisk brand like the plague, with one exception. And that's their "Industrial 64GB" card. Heavy duty I/O write controller, with MLC memory. All their other cards are JUNK. A good alternative (the Sandisk "Industrial" cards are hard to find at this late date, in 64GB), is Samsung's "Pro Endurance" MLC U1 cards. Both of these are reliable, and long lasting for dash cam looping. So long term drone usage should be no problem. 4K writing may be an issue, though. Bottom line....do your homework! Good luck.

@thedoc.68195 жыл бұрын
I'm late finding this! But I have to agree that getting the fastest card - U3 is best. As to size? Well for me 32Gb is the minimum, 64Gb is enough, as I change cards when I change batteries on the drones. I carry two card holders when I'm flying, one for 'empties', one for used. They can fill up fast with a dual gimble setup.

Two more speed categories: Application (IOPS, not relevant for drone video/images), and V (Video). Some products have a maximum size that they can accept (even within a size standard), so it's important to check the manual.
