As a lawn care business owner, and a guy who used to work at a small engine dealership. I myself would always go with honda everytime. Longevity, maintenance, easy start, power. In my years I've seen many more problems with briggs. Or as we used to call them in the shop breaks and scrapum.

Hahaha...have never heard that one, that's funny! Good input. I know back in the late 90s early 2000s that Breaks and Scrapum had a lot of issues. No problems yet with this one.

@@29Turf you wrong the plastic cam never haved that instead have metal camshaft on honda hrx hrd hrn if being fixed and become safe instead is not true safe why the starter rope of honda hrx is too much soft if you have a kids or toddler that him can hurt itself or worse start the engine simply pull the rope of the engine and start it inside the garage house in that case is better for really safety recall for everyone

You should always place the piston at TDC and flip mower with air filter facing up to avoid oil flooding issues. The way you did it is completely opposite and will cause engine oil to leak into your air filter and make a mess on the surface or grass.

Thanks for the info. Didn't know about TDC but I thought I had the air cleaners up.

Enjoyed the video…. I would probably go Honda if the 180 turns are much easier…. The deck will never rust…. Probably get blades forever on the Hondas…. But striping is so cool!

They did have a recall, but my understanding is all units that are still for sale should have been repaired.

@@29Turf if you don’t understand the issue is the plastic gear inside the honda engine gcvx gasoline diesel and oil engine is always made from petroleum and fact them three can melting the gear and after is fuck for everyone

Hi Mark, yes the self propelled "cruise control" is hydrostatic.

Honda lawn mower engines are durable but there are other components on Honda lawn mowers that go bad and need replaced. I'm on my 5th Honda lawn mower the HRN216. My next mower will be a electric toro with personal pace.

I have a new Toro battery mower, it sucks, drive wheel falls off in 2nd hour, battery shorts, and on-line Toro will not take it back. They do not take items back if you use it for 1 minute! Their rear left geared wheel unbolts itself from the bracket, it self destructs! Two others have the same problem. Their repair dealer literally told me "with Toro, its Buyer Beware". I have a Toro case number, a BBB case number, and a US Consumer Product Safety Commission case number. Save yourself and learn from my mistake, and stay away from Toro.

Sounds like you got a lemon. Did you try taking it back to where you bought it from. If it was a big box store, try taking it to a Toro dealer for help.
