MPC Live 2!...the fact that you can take it with you to the bathroom and finish your beat while taking a 💩 is amazing!!

I think this line of MPC’s will be viewed as legendary 10 or 20 years from now. The comeback of AKAI vs Maschine. The return to standalone with built in daws and effects. The price to power ratio of the mpc one. The built in speakers and battery powered portability of the live 2. Responsible for pulling alot of producers and casual users away from point and click production. It really is legendary already.

If you asked me this a month ago, I would have said the Live 2 but I recently pulled out my X and maaaan I missed all the dedicated buttons. I have them all and hands down it’s the X

MPC 3000 is still my jam.

"Best" is subjective to the user I think but my personal favs are the 4K, 2KXL and 2500. 👍🏾

All of them for me but the Live II gets the most work. I carry it everywhere. Being that I play keys, the Key 61 is a deal maker. Plus, it reminds me of the ASR-10. I remember asking Akai about an Mpc with a keyboard. The rep told me in 2008 they couldn’t discuss it. I think they did well for the first version. Next, I would imagine an 88 Key with a flip screen and more knobs and buttons. I absolutely love the Mpc X. It’s like working on a space age Mpc 3000/4000 mixed. Mostly because of the form factor. With each unit, I get a different feel. I feel R&B with the Keys, hip hop with the X and a little of both with the Live II. But I can do everything with either machine. Hard to say, but I would probably choose the Live 2 if I could only have one, but the X looks so I’ll sitting there like the boss…Great video @bolodaproducer

One day I may try some other kind of hardware, but I'll ALWAYS love the MPC. All the producers I'm inspired by have used them. RZA, DJ Muggs, Havoc, Swiss Beatz, Alchemist, 9th Wonder, Heatmakers.....So many.

MPC ONE is the best because that the only one I have.

I'm using the mpc one standalone and I haven't turned my computer on for so long and I'm so happy I did. It helps me sample anything with my phone and let's me do anything I can do :)

I wouldn't trade an MPC for a Maschine standalone scenario to save my life, but I also wouldn't trade a Maschine for an MPC when it comes to DAW integration either. I'm blessed to own both though, so no complaints. 😁

Great video. I would love all 3. But I have my sights on the X and Live 2 for exactly what they were meant for. It will be a big jump for me, from an MPC2000 to today's MPC.

I’ll say the X.. 8 outs for tracking, easy q links, and I’m not killing my eyes with the smaller screens.. Traveling making beats is a novelty in the internet age.. All those extra screens to find stuff in the 61 and live kills the production vibe. To many steps

Yea the mpc live 2 is great 👍🏻 it’s portable I can do what every other mpc can do , and that alone makes it very close. As the owner of all 3 I won’t even sit here and make you guys feel better about your selves . The X is the best on every level , the user experience alone makes it superior to any mpc on any level, yes the 16 q links and no menu diving make it that great.

Great video! I sold my Live II and regretting it although have a Key 61 on the way. Will buy another Live II as I think having both is a good balance between the studio and portability.

I loved the 2500, I really liked the thickness of the sampling of the 4000. I tried the the key61 and liked it but brought it back because it was buggy. I see they improved . (Sometimes I regret bringing it back..no cap) maybe I’ll get it again in the future. But I’m thinking of getting the live II first.. we’ll see

Got my Mpc X for $590 used about 5 years ago! Love it! Found a Mpc live 2 at a pawn shop and got that for $700. Love it.

I Iove my my Live 2 as well. I returned my MPC one and settle for the live 2. Its easy to turn it on and off without worrying about the cables and battery. It's the real PORTABLE machine.

The MPC Live 2 was perfect for me. I still can’t believe the internal battery and how good the speakers are, I play it anywhere in the house, upstairs or downstairs

MPC One! Love the form factor. I'm flying tomorrow on low-cost and it fits in my backpack with portable speakers. Doesn't take too much space on my studio deck either. Love it so much :))

MPC Live 2 all day everyday. I like the extra tactile button functions on the other machines. But who needs them if you gotta wait to get back to the studio/or home to cook?

Nobody said Key61 😂. I can't choose between my X and live II. Live II does get more use...but I get busy busy on the X cuz all the dedicated buttons and knobs. My one, I don't really touch it...but it's there to be used in another space...I could still use it in a portable setup the live II is kind of big still. The Key61 idk I mean I already have a workstation keyboard and I'm not losing or missing out on anything just having the keyboard plugging into the MPC directly. Also I hate reaching over the key bed to hit the pads and I prefer a tilt screen or else I feel like I must stand up. I don't really like the ergonomics.

All the mpcs are good but honestly for a person that plays the keys and is a pianist the key61 is a animal and to me gives me everything I need without extra attachments

Hi Bolo and grazie very much for your nice and useful videos. I have a question about Mpc products by Akai. Which of these machines can be used with interna sounds while using a midi file internally. I am using roland fa 07 but just as sequencer and not as keyboard and i would like to use mpc but with own sounds. And di you know if the quality of these sounds is as high as that of roland fa? Is it possible to load new patches that can be used by internal sequencer in a midi file play? Thanks a lot ciao

Great video mate, I have the MPC X, and I just can't use the workflow, it is just too difficult compared to Roland MPC's that I have. Additionally there's no Kensington lock to keep it in place, and you can only record a max 3 minutes of Vocals lyrics which is just insane!!! unless an update has changed that, so I dumped this back in the box after a month, ready for the tip..

The best MPC is the one you spend lots of time makes beats/music and the one the inspires you.

How do you get the Mpc61 and the Mpc Renaissance to work together. The Renaissance is just a controller I don’t get what I can’t get it to work with the 61

I got an MPC One and MPC Touch. You really cannot lose with Akai Pro units. Will definitely have the MPC Live 2 in my hands eventually too.

Love my one. Almost sent it back and grabbed a live 2 but I’m just gonna get an adapter for Bluetooth midi.

Man, I got the Fantom 06 a couple of weeks ago, and I just don't know. The sounds are quality, but the workflow is lacking. I wanted to use it with the MPC One, which I can do, but I wanted it to be like the MPC One as a standalone workstation, but it is nothing like the MPC One, and the drum kits are just not up to par, so I'm twisted on what to do? Hey Bolo, I don't know if you will answer, but when you are on the Roland Fantom 06, and you know how you go to save the tones/sounds, because you want to save the sound effects of the tone, you have to put it in a user slot. Why in the hell would Roland do such a thing? Why not just have a write button, or when you press write and save a scene, it saves the whole pattern and sounds? But if you go to another pattern, and you want to use the same sound where you saved sound effects to it, and you overwrite it in a new pattern, it will not be saved the same way for the last pattern? It will overwrite the sound on all patterns. I just don't understand what they we're thinking with this at all. Ya know, what happens when the user slots are filled, and you go to save that patch? Then, it is going to overwrite the effects that you've applied on that sound patch. It makes no sense at all. Do you know if any updates have fixed this, or what they give you in the newer updates, because I haven't updated it yet, but I'm sure it won't fix this issue. I was just wondering what your feedback would be on this?...SBN RESONATE

Just got my key 61 and holy shit if it had a battery. I wouldn’t need to use daw ever again. I can just plug into a guitar amp and start looping instruments. Best way to make backing tracks.

Mpc 2000xl still relavent in 2023?

If Akai would just make a version that is a blend of the MPC one and MPC live2 (with more ram and a faster processor) that would be a winner. I like the form of the MPC one (size, buttons, and layout). It is just missing the ability to add SSD internal memory. More menu diving and clicking just sucks.I love the MPC X, I just see no real down side to it. The layout of the MPC X is awesome. No SD card no deal for me, so i don't even care about an MPC with keys!

I have the live and love it l. The ONE thing is fix is the note repeat time switch’s being on screen. THAT SUCKS!! Coming from Maschine using buttons that you can select the timing for each button. This is the reason I’ve thought about switching to the keys but I love the live 2 size and portability.

The best MPC out of the current ones is the MPC One. It does every one of the basic functions that the X/Live/Live II do. But it currently costs less than $700 new. Plus its the best of both worlds. More portable than the Live/Live II will ever be and it has a lot of buttons like an MPC should.

With the mpc61 you are getting 500$ vst's

Live II is the best bang for your buck. X is a great centerpiece for a full studio setup but overkill for a bedroom setup.
