I use a Jackson soloist to play fusion. The good thing about "shred" guitars imo it's the pick ups with the right set up of pickups You can make it sound creamy, punchy, raw and crystal clear

If you were to get a fixed bridge shredder guitar for the same price as that custom shop, I could guarantee it would hold tuning better than any strat with a floating bridge.

What an innovative way to test metal guitar's sound without distortion

As someone who plays a lot of metal but isn't necessarily a guitar nerd, I've seen strats used and shredded on by plenty of bands so the strat could be argued to already be a metal guitar, but regardless, if you break a string, it ain't the guitars fault.

The thing about a strat is there's plenty of metal players that use them. Sometimes the single coil sound paired with a noise gate can get you those crunchy sharp tones you're looking for in a metal tone. Use whatever guitar you want!

The shredder had a warmer tone and i think is better for blues while the strat si better in rock use

Both are so nice, one (the shredder) has a more smoother tone but the other (the strat) has a more plucky twang to it

I❤Strat's..... but the glitch about Strat's are, at the bridge of the this particular 🎸is some very sharp parts where's these single adjustable poles which are called "saddles". When you put too much pressure on bending the strings, (mostly the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, very rarely the 4th). Strat's are notorious for popping those first 3 strings. In the late 70's, most packs of guitar strings used to come with an extra "E(1st) string, because of this problem, some guitar string companies used to come with an extra E(1st), & B(2nd) like Carvin, D'Addario, DiMarzio, D'Arco(Funky Lights)...... these one's were my favorites, because they were longer than most strings, and when they would pop at the front of the bridge, you could fix the string, re-tie the ball to the string, tighten it up, make sure that it didn't lose it's tuning, from the tied string slipping. That's why, you used to always keep the back cover of your Strat off, because you always had to change your strings....all the time (this was the main issue of the Strat....oh yeah!.... there's the fact, that you couldn't watch an old TV set, while playing, because the single coil p/u's would always p/u all that ungrounded sound, and it'd be louder than what you're trying to play....it was freaking frustrating! I solved the string bridge popping problem, by finding "Graphite Saddles", and after that I only break strings because of their age, or quality....not because.....I had a String Guillotine for a guitar bridge!...... sheeeesh! 🎸👈😉👍

I gotta say... The newer guitar, at least this one, has a delightful warm buzz to it. That strat has an incredible sound but the newer one has a sound I like

to be fair, he is using a custom shop strat and it looks like the metal guitar isnt very high end, so of course the strat will win this one. Maybe try using a high end schecter against the custom shop.
