I got my choice. Anne of Cleves! I'm a survivor.

I admire Anne of Cleaves because because she was intelligent enough to agree to the annulment of their marriage. Not to mention she was handsomely rewarded for giving Henry what he wanted. Of all the wives, Anne Of Cleaves got the last laugh by out living Henry, his son Edward and she treated Queen Mary with deference. However, I took the quiz and ended up with Catherine of Aragon.

Claire, after posting my Anne of Cleves result and then reading all the comments I was surprised to see not only the many others who got Anne but how many also claim her as their favorite wife. I think you once said that she was also your second favorite after Ann B. Since she is so popular with your subscribers, would you consider doing more episodes about her. If there is not enough On This Day material on her perhaps Tiesel might want to give more stories about Anne in her Tiesel's Trivia.

I got Anne of Cleves. Which is quite satisfactory, as I got the Catherine of Aragon treatment during my divorce and once was more than enough.

I was astonished to see I got Anne of Cleves. My favorite is Anne Boleyn, but in retrospect, I think Anne of Cleves actually did quite well. She kept her head, became wealthy, was able to tell her brother that she wasn't coming back home and was well-regarded by the King. Not bad really.

I think you'd appreciate German history as well. In the 16th century, there was a Hessian prince, Landgrave Philip the Magnanimous, who neither beheaded nor divorced his wives. It's also intriguing to note that the Tudors have a blend of Bavarian royal and Italian blood, which perhaps contributed to their fiery temperaments. I don’t have a particular favourite. I believe all of them were complex women who had trying lives and did their best in the difficult situations they were thrust into, and that till recently history was quite biased against them. I got Anne of Cleves. I’m happy with that, she was a pragmatic survivor and the only one to live a good long life after been married to Henry.

Catherine of Aragon also - though I answered several questions differently. She is also the one I gravitate to most, though I admire them all for completely different reasons ... maybe pity Catherine Howard more than admire... Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn seemed to be very much equal and opposite, and I believe that we, in this time, can uphold them both without denigrating one in favor of the other.

I would have liked to have been Anne of Cleves, Henry was so nasty to her but she ended up being his "beloved sister" with estates and money. She also managed to stay on good terms with Henry, his wives and children. Like you,Claire, I got Catherine of Aragon. Keep safe.

I got Catherine of Aragon and though I admire her perseverance and tenacity, I really enjoy Anne of Cleves. I think she was very smart, clever, charming and knew how to survive in what could have been a very difficult - or deadly - situation.

Katherine of Aragon - the best. The one he was married to the longest. The one who had the most to commend her: beautiful, intelligent, faithful, royal at birth. Curious questions, though. The song choices? Montell Jordan??? Who remembers the mid-90s? Cirque du Soleil shows? I've been to one of the shows, but none that were offered looked familiar. And I don't get the choice of "leaders": former American President, former Mexican President, current Canadian Prime Minister, Swedish Prince. Three of those fellows are handsome.
