This is a wee video about our personal experience of both the Pros and Cons of using both the Amdro bootjump and the Chapel Motorhomes Double Conversion kit in our Berlingo Multispace.
Both systems have their merits and its just more about what sort of camping experience you'd prefer.
We hope this video will help in some way to shed some light on what choices you have available.

Hi Tina we also were tent campers and then upgraded to an Amdro boot jump. It was really good for me but my husband is over 6 foot and it was too small for him to sit comfortably. We then went on to Madge our motorhome and last year changed to our Wildax Pulsar. It fits all our current needs and at 5.4m is easy enough to park. It is my everyday vehicle. We still have our Peugeot partner teepee but just use it as a car now. I do like your Chapel conversion and will have a look at your video. Take care Gill

Now you’re teasing us with the ‘watch this space..’ comments. Intriguing! I have a chapel hybrid conversion and it’s perfect for me. However I still haven’t sorted the ‘ a place for everything..’ situation. Not as much storage as you have in the double. I don’t know how you manage with 3 of you in a Berlingo. You must be very organised- specially on long trips. Look forward to hearing more about your plans and hope all 3 of you are on the mend. Jan.

Thanks Tina for the great videos, I’ve used a lot of your tips and tricks for my own conversion - all your videos are very helpful. Love that you compare too openly. I have built my own l shape but completely agree, being able to live in the van as such, get changed etc makes a huge difference, and travelling alone haha. Hopefully catch you at a meet up this year 😊 take care

I started with a boot jump too. I found it too faffy and did not always enjoy cooking outside it’s really a fair weather set up,after watching you get on with the chapel units I started looking at this upgrade- they built me one like yours only with a single bed ( there’s only me!) & I absolutely love it - it’s changed everything for the better even a day out is great I can get in out of the rain/ sun/ hail/ wind / get my boots off & a brew on. When I’m ready to change I will look at the nv200 like carol & ken had it looks to have a tad more space and a pop top would be nice. Happy travels ❤

We have the bootjump set up and the only things i find tricky is finding space for everything so the key is organisation! Cooking outside when the weather is bad can be a faff... overall for what we paid we enjoy the boot jump system. We mostly off grid, we would love a chapel conversion, the only thing that may worry me is leaving in a hurry in an emergency due to the drivers seat being fully folded down. I wonder if you're planning any more modifications to your system!? You inspired us to get our boot jump! Hopefully you'll continue to enjoy buddy intrigued what other set ups you may consider.....looking forward to seeing more of your travels soon. we are off to mull in April.

Hi. Thanks for watching. The outside cooking was the reason we changed from the bootjump to the Chapel. Having to fold the front seats is our main bugbare, but it is possible to escape in a hurry. We've been there! Not easy but doable, like everything in our wee spaces 😁🐕🚙

Delighted to come across this video, answered so many questions that I’ve been needing. Currently scanning auto-trader/gumtree for the perfect berlingo multi space to suit my partner and I, plus the wee dog. Aiming to travel europe which means MPG and reliability is what means the most to us. I currently have a landrover discovery 2 which is semi converted but similar to your old Volkswagen it is starting to become more of an expense than a hobby. I was 100% sure I wanted a boot jump but your set up looks amazing and definitely considering similar. Quality video!!

Hi Tina have you thought of reducing the height of the kitchen by half and having a fold down worktop for you kitchen counter and then running a storage cuboard up high along the back side to side. This way you could use up the extra space at the back for you bed set up.

Great point about being able to do everything with the doors closed. I would add that being able to take the cooker, sink, prep surfaces and eating furniture outside when the weather and location allows is also important. These fixed designs are not ideal.

Very interesting. We have a VW transporter (T5) now and are getting some work done on the pop up top and bed so we can camp in it. Our issue is that we still need it be a builders' works van so can't lose floor space as we lug tools about. I suspect for our first camping trip it will just be a roof bed and we will exchange boxes of tools for boxes of camping gear!

Hi Guys. We are just starting out this year with our pre-loved Berlingo (Barney) and the Campal boot jump having gone the otherway and downsized from a NuVenture motor home. We are slowly getting together various bits if kit that we've seen on other KZfaq channels. Given some comments on here I think one of the most useful might be the quickstop awning from Redcote! Keeping the weather at bay and private toilet stops being a priority! I'm interested to know if Buddy is insulated, what you use to keep warm in colder temperatures and what you use for power when stealth/wild camping. We have a Jackery 500 and 100w Solar panel, but not field tested either yet. Thanks fir your fabulous content. Keep well. Looking forward to seeing you back on the road 😊
@the-other-windsors
@the-other-windsors 3 ай бұрын
Hi. Thanks for watching. With regard to your questions. Buddy is a car dirived base vehicle, so no insulation except just the internal carpets and roof lining. If on EHU we use a small oil filled radiator placed between the front seats. If off grid, we haven't in the past bothered with any heating and have overnighted in -5 C. Once in your sleeping bag, it's not an issue. We now have an ecoflow River 2 Pro which is 800 watt and a 100 watt solar panel on the roof. Enough to give a few quick blasts with a small 240v fan heater. Enough to warm the air. Failing that. If we're up and about...just put the kettle on. Soon warms it up. We wish you the best in your new adventures 🙂🐕🚙

Many thanks for taking the time to give your response. It's very helpful. I get a bit claustrophobic in a sleeping bag so hoping a winter weight quilt will do for the colder months. Ive just put deposit on a 2012 berlingo from redcote leisure, wimbourne, with jump boot , getting excited, pick up 2weeks Very good vid , Id love a leisure battery as not fitted , but wondered if your roof top solar panel could keep my cool box 240v working 2 or 3 days , the small one supplied is only for charging phone and lighting

Hi. You're going to love the freedom your wee berlingo gives you. Out for the day, park up, brew up, sit back and relax and for longer trips too. With regards to the cooler box and solar being sufficient power to run it. If it's a cool box that runs constantly, rather than a compressor fridge, then definitely not. Even with a compressor fridge, it would be highly unlikely. Although, we have yet to test that one. As our leisure battery is mainly charged via the split charger when driving. The solar is a backup if we stay put for a couple of days. 🙂🐕🚙
