Here in the video, we take a look at the difference between a torque sensor and a cadence sensor e-bike. Simply put, a cadence sensor senses how fast you pedal and determines how much power to propel based on it. Basically, it only works when you get the pedals rolling.
While a torque sensor is smarter and more sensitive, it can actually sense how hard you are pedaling and the bike will match power accordingly depending on the pedal assist mode that you are in. That means as soon as the rider puts pressure on the pedals it will trigger the motor, even if the bike is stationary. It’s immediate and responsive. It also saves you more battery.
