Nice video Pascal. If you can, please do similar with one same boot, but just with different wheel sizes in same wheel model. Would be good to see difference between for example 3x100 vs 3x110 etc. 🙂

Liked the comparison Pascal, think its also interesting to do a comparison with a nowadays 4x110 allowed track speedskate and 80s stuff (say 5x76mm or so), maybe gonna do that myself after the ice season...

I can see you put the frames close together almost at the limit of the frame mount, do you do that often with big wheels? Also, do you move the frame on the heel too or only on the toe side?

Great video! Would love to see you test various 3x125 frame lengths on the 5KM loop (same wheels and bearings). The test could be incremental from the shortest one (255mm) up to the longest (330mm). I've been testing a 295mm frame alongside a 320mm frame and couldn't say which is faster for me yet. I get more back strain with the shorter frame, but maybe I just need more time on them.

We will look into that. in theory the longer frames are faster, or at least have the potential to be faster because they are more stable at high speeds, I get small wobbles on my 290mm when going above 30 km/t, where as a pair of 320 mm are super stable. (I have quite a big boot size, so it might be different for you) In an outdoor race setting, there are very few advantages in a short frame, since it all about top speed. - Kasper

Do the Matter wheels still exist? If not: what do speedskaters use now? Is there a comfortable (wider, dual compound) wheel?

Matter doesn’t exist anymore. Pro use TLTF one , or other classic brands but not so easy to find many wheels at the moment.

@@ThePascalbriand So just some leftovers in stores. And the "wider" (rounded) comfortable ones (extreme white etc.) with the very soft innercore are also gone. 🤷‍♂️

Hi guys Off topic but do you think it's a steep learning curve to start learning skating on a speed skate? I skate fine on fitness skates (powerslide Vi) currently

Hi, really dépend of people some adjust fast some not. It’s just important to restart with many basic drills. But if you like your fitness boot it’s already a big update if you use new frame and wheels.
