It’ll help get over the fear of stalling plus teach you, your cars limit/biting point. You’ll get to know when your cars about to stall because it will. Don't clutch in before braking, you're effectively putting yourself in neutral and take away control of acceleration. Use lower gears to decelerate more when braking, this saves fuel and brake pads over time. Release gas, start braking, shift to 2 and slowly release clutch, continue braking, shift to 1 when below 10km/h, otherwise just press gas to continue.

Both of them work. As long as you disengage the clutch before you press the brake pedal you won’t stall the engine and can come to an easy stop. If you ever have to press the brake pedal before the clutch just make sure you keep an eye on your engines RPMs and only apply slight pressure as hammering it down will just lock out the motor and cause problems. Without engine power you lose all your hydraulic assist with the brakes and must rely on your manual parking brake to stop, not a good time if that’s the situation you’re in.

I personally use the mythical blinker fluid which allows me to stop faster than braking

An old Jaguar trained mechanic told me this: "A cutch replacement is $3000, parts and labor. New brake pads all around are $300, half that for just the front pads, which is all you'll need most of the time. You don't need engine braking in the city. Push the clutch in, put it in neutral if you are going to stop, then use just the brakes. You'll save money in the long run."
