Maybe this can be explained by the fact that they have chairs empty to space out home and away fans? Happens in Swansea at least so almost impossible to have 100% attendance even if sold out

I'm assuming that lots of people buy season tickets when they're in the prem because they're the cheapest in the league and use them to watch games against the big 6 then dont go to any other games. Same thing happened with Watford when they were in the prem

If you have a capacity of 20,000 that's two thousand empty seats. If it's 60,000 that's six thousand. People notice that City doesn't fill their ground with just a few percent, ten percent is far worse.

Forest have sold out every game so in reality it's 100%, but some seats are left empty as a buffer for health and safety reasons (far too many tbh, no need for it whatsoever) so in these stats it's not listed as 100%. Shows you these stats are misleading and shouldn't be paid any attention.

The reason why the Etihad is called emptyhad is because away fans always go home early because their team gets slaughtered, and troll accounts always highlight the empty part of their seats The one from the away supporter seat.

Yeah. I have been to 3 matches at Anfield, been constantly trying to get tickets for most of my life and only managed it 3 times and those were Europa and League Cup games. Its really sad how hard it is to get tickets. I think the club should allocate maybe 10,000 seats to tickets that can only be bought at the gate on the day of the match just to give people a chance.

That’s something people don’t think about. We had 30k fans in attendance in league 1, we have a loyal, local fan base clubs like Utd don’t. Their fans are from all over the country and they don’t actually care about the club and are as plastic as they come. Man City fans as much as people like to say we are aren’t plastic for the most part. We have a loyal fanbase that actually cares for the club not just going there for a day trip

The trouble with stuff like this, though, is that clubs report their attendances differently. Arsenal, for example, report tickets sold as attended, regardless of whether they actually pass the gates, so it's heavily inflated. I'm inclined to believe that West Ham and Everton are high, though probably not as high as this shows. Their fanbases are pretty loyal.

It depends how many seats are sacrificed for away fan safety etc. At Leeds for example. Tickets only go to members and they sell out within 10 minutes of going on sale. Tickets dont reach general sale. Yet leeds dont feature on the list despite selling every "every available" ticket.

Incorrect on City Stadium capacity was reduced several years ago. Most people incorrectly calculate it to a capacity of 55,017, this was due to the installation of the new advertising boards at the side of the pitch Etihad actually holds 53,400, and their average is 53,288, that calculates to 99.6% If you actually calculate their attendance to their correct capacity over the last 3 seasons City have a better percentage than all of the other big six

Leeds, Newcastle and Liverpool are the actual top 3 attendance % (in that order) Also Leeds and Newcastle have an estimated 2 year backlog wait time for a season ticket

@@Etinaver I know Newcastle released another 1000 season tickets available a few weeks back and the queue was 40k people long. The pre season friendlies you had to wait in queues of 30k to get a ticket.

@@danielpollock6893 it was a UCL group stage game against RB Leipzig where we had basically already qualified. Lots of our fans haven’t got the money or time (working during the midweek) to attend games that constantly. We are a club in Manchester not London where moneys in abundance

Sheffield United refused to sell me tickets for last weekends home game against Nottingham Forest. They had over 1000 empty seats, and had already been relegated. I took my 2 lads to 2 games last season and bought the new kit for 1 of them, but you needed 750 points to attend the match and we were about 500 points short. Online said no. Twice visited the ticket office and they said no both times, even though they said they knew they weren't going to sell out. Honestly can't understand it. We went to watch Sheffield Sharks basketball instead. Saved £30 and saw a great win. Probably get accross to Manchester next season and take my lads to a Premier league match at Old Trafford or the Etihad instead, when they are playing a lower placed team.

Doesn’t take into account seats used for dividing away and home fans and the executive sections in the Peter Taylor stand. 30k seater stadium but not all are offered to fans.

the issue with Man U is that the local fans hate the glazers but because their clubs so MASSIVE it just means more tourist fans get to buy seats, great for those foreign fans not great for local fans who are angry with their leadership group and cant do anything about it
