My wife uses 14oz I use 16oz. It’s been working out fine. EDIT: I’m not Asian though.

I used 16 oz as a beginner and now I use 24 oz and I’m planning on getting 12 oz gloves for pads.

I’m 6ft 3 250lbs all of my training partners are 6ft 3 + 16oz is the only glove allowed in our gym 😂

What about if you are a bigger lady with bigger hands and hit harder than most ladies? Lol i use 12oz but feel like i need more protection

Toughen up and use 16oz lady 😂... I'm only 125lbs at 5ft11 and I'm a 15 year old, I do everything with 16oz. It's good for building shoulder endurance and increasing hand speed. In tournaments and such you'll be fighting with 10oz gloves or so and the more you train with 16oz, you'll find your hands will absolutely fly with 10oz gloves.

@@DarcyMills-gr1ii Even if you're just starting, you def need to start using 16oz quickly because you will see the difference after getting used to the heavier gloves.

free standing bags i personally would use the lighter of the 2 but if you are hitting a hanging heavy bag, 10-14oz heavier punch get a heavier glove. protect your hands.

Start with 16oz gloves as beginner because they are heavier and you re going to have a better shoulder stamina and also do shoulder drills, for bag work and also sparring

16 ounce gloves are ideal for all sparring, aside from children of course. They're more padded so they offer you and your sparring partner more protection

fight and sparring are two separate things, sparring always use 16oz to protect your partner and ur hands (rules of majority gym only allows sparring in 16oz), competition fights sometime goes from 8 - 12 0z depending on weight or competition rules.

muai thai are twins and fairtex, boxing are everlast or title... but that doesnt mean they're great gloves in todays market

It's really more about what you're going to use the glove for. larger gloves are softer with more padding and protection, ideal for sparring. Lighter gloves give you more knuckle feel, pop, and feedback on contact, good for the the heavy bag to get a feel for how your punches land, they also help condition your knuckles.

Yes Im 75kg and I hit the heavy bag with 8 oz gloves. 10 oz gloves are perfect for the heavy bag.
