This explains so much. I had two Solo Baric 12L7S and when i got in my boys Beamer with 2 12" JL W7... I was petty underwhelmed after how smug he acted about them tbh lol. I mean they did sound really good, but its not making people's jaws drop or beg you to turn it down like the L7s would.

i currently have both in 2 cars. i can honestly say the evl's are vicious in sound but vxf's handle more power and maintain sq. i had them on my rp4500 and they took it all day with no problem. evl's i had them on a sk2500 all day no problem. probably could of took more. currently have my vxf's on a taramps md5k in a bobby gately box and they are taking it no issue. skar is under rated

I got the VXF 15" Dual 2 as my daily now. It's in a 3.98 Cubic foot @30hz.... And on music I'm doing over 145.8 DB on low power... As in RP800.1DM

I have the evl12 loaded enclosure and was disappointed with its performance on 1500 watts. I upgraded the Amp and the evl handles power well but didn't impress me. Switched to the vxf12 in the same box and running the same power. The vxf sounds way better and way louder on the same exact power and box. I'm still breaking the vxf in but I will say the evl took everything I threw at it. I had an issue with the dust cap coming lose on the evl and when they glued the voice coil they got glue everywhere. No issues like that with the vxf

I moved from 2 12 inch svr's to 1 vfx-d2 15 and I'm truly impressed with the svr series. I assumed that at double the Xmas with two Inches extra cone area it be the shit. Now I've built both a custom box for my 2011 lacrosse and both boxes tuned at 32hz. But the two svrs were impressive. The vfx-d2 15 is nothing to cry about either its just missing what I wanted to be better. So at the moment I'm going to build a forward build in trunk box for 2 15 and two tramps 3k. ( I bought the amp after watching your channel) anyway im hoping to do something impressive. I'm getting to old to be spending money on this shit. Lol

Good content bro. I have both models and they're 12s. Imo I think the evl is a little more sq than spl. You can play them at rms power for quite a while but go past it n they smell. The vxf, I can straighg abuse them. They don't sound as good but I've played just over 3k on two of them and they seemed to just kinda smirk n take it. I switch out the evls for the vxfs every now and then n the evls do sound better. Seems the further up the chain you go the more spl focused they are. Thanks for the info you provide. If I'm to choose, I'd go with the 12. Something about spl 12's that gives it the right tight bass, but that's my opinion. If I had the space I'd do a single 12. I heard 15's too but it doesn't give me what I feel from the 12's or maybe I haven't heard them setup right.

I enjoy watching majority of your videos which you make it self explanatory for beginners to adapt quicker. My topic is that I am interesting in buying a new subwoofer and debating between 12" vs 15" with the same brand, specs as well as the RMS. I hope you can compare a brand with same specs so I can acknowledge your expert wisdom. I did my research but still having difficulty deciding cause some say the 12" allow the bass to travel far, yes it has a sharp,rich bass and crisper, the driver in the 12 is easier to move and respond to music bass etc the 15 displace more air and the driver doesn't hit good according to certain music also can be too much bang that drain away the song. Yes I do love the air displace from a subwoofer also I am a basshead but I don't want to have regret of a 15 when I can still get it from a 12 with better bass quality. Hope you can help me out thank you

I Got 1500 watts on the evl 12 and it's not the best sounding but most people can't tell the difference because they don't spend any money for their systems to know how clean power sounds

Hello, I have a ported box tuned to 30hz for (4) Skar EVL "10 woofers, what is the best but cheapest amp I can get? Should I get one large amp (eg. 8k) or two smaller ones (eg. 2 4k's) and bridge them? Is Lanzar any good?

But I was told I will need to upgrade my Alternator and get a Big 3 Kit as well. In your opinion is worth it, I'm asking because you owned both of them as well. Or just get a 15" Evl?

I got the evl 12's recently, but they're in a small ported prefab. I have yet to hear them in the proper box. If I'm not satisfied with sound in the new box, I'll just upgrade I guess.

Evl15 in 3.4cu tune to 30 and you gaining 3db from 30-50 with a nice taper roll off under 30.. it’s a really nice flat 15 in the right box…

Currently run 4 EVL 18s. Yea, they sound great and get loud, but they're really not for the lanes. Thinking about going to VFX or ZVX 15s.

Skar just bought out Audio legion but audio legion come out with these subwoofer their are the same as the emperor series 4 ‘coil but they made them in the S3015 3’ coil the same basket as the emperor series wondering if skar is going to bring them out my Buddy he have 4 s3015 old ones not the new ones and 2-amplifier 5000 it pound the ground which one is the best salt 8 by sundown or the DD AUDIO M8000

i’ve had 3 EVL 12s, moved up to the VXF and i must say, these PUNCH and they get very low which surprised me. just make sure u have a well built box and it matches the specs for the sub or subs u plan on running.

Have you tried comparing the soundqubed HDS 3.2 against any of the skar subwoofers?

Also have to look at excursion between the 2. It may not have as big of an effect as cone area but it can make a difference. I know the vxf has 30mm of xmax 1 way. Not sure about the evl. I think I seen that the zvx even has less with 28mm. Could be wrong tho.

For 279 equal to the vxf you could get a evl18 d2 and that would be much better buy.

I think the vxf will sound lower than the evl15 the evl will play low but be punchy

Yes 200 watts will do numbers even 50 watts will do numbers. Personally cone area is not king I've seen 10s do more than 15s so I don't believe in it 100% like everyone else does.

I currently have the triple skar 8s that have 1050w rms and 2100w peak and I am wanting to get the skar audio 15 with 1250w rms and 2500w peak, the amp im wanting to get is also a skar audio amp with RMS Power at 1 Ohm: 4,500 Watts x 1 Channel (14.4v) and with a peak Power at 1 Ohm: 7,000 Watts x 1 Channel (14.4v) is it ok for me to run the 3 8s and 1 15 on the amp if their peak power is at 4600 for both subs and the rms power is 4500 for the amp? All 3 items are from the skar audio website.

I will never buy Skar again. I had a SDR-10 D2. Was very disappointed at how easily it would distort while within the recommended RMS power from the Skar amp. I moved up to the Evil-10 D2, I was impressed by the deep hard hit, but the foam surround started ripping within a year, and the Skar amp would overheat and shut down after 20 minutes of hard hitting. Check out JL, they put Skar to shame!! Skar is junk
