Goseiger got unlucky due to it being sandwiched between Shinkenger and Gokaiger, two of the best seasons ever. So because of that it looked bad by comparison.

One thing to note during the Gekiranger part, the movie "Best Kid" is called "Karate Kid" in America. Also, I've heard rumor before of Gekiranger having bad toy sales is because it aired at the same time as Den-O, so kids were buying Den-O toys more than Gekiranger because it was much more popular series

For Goseiger, they are pretty good basic Sentai series. But since they're between Shinkenger and Gokaiger, they got unlucky. For Ninninger, they have two problem. One is obviously story. Since they lack story, adult stop watching. That still ok cuz they made that for kids. But another thing is showing cultural things in a complicated way, so kids are so hard to follow those. That's make Ninninger look bad.

Gekiranger is my 1st super sentai series. And it is one of my favorites. It's not because it is my 1st sentai but I think the show was genuinely good and achieved what in wanted to do. But I really give you credits on how nicely you have explained why you feel one series is popular and the other is not. It makes real sense. However you comments on Rio and Mele's training method compared to Gekirangers is more serious is absolutely valid. But that is what Rin Juken was about , it was about being strong through sufferings. I remember when the master of sky was training Rio it was a life and death situation to see if Rio is really worthy of being his pupil. On the other hand the respective masters of the Geki rangers believed there is training in everywhere. So for them training was like kind of playing and learning from day to day activities. And I feel it was a great way to show the differences between the beliefs of Geki Juken and Rin Juken. Even GekiJuken has internal conflicts like Kageki and Shigeki etc.If you look into academia it is also the same, some teachers teach through real life activities and some teachers and much more serious and continously tests his students through examinations. And about Gekiranger mechas I feel they are unique and cool. I wonder how to wolf can turn into a tiger and jaguar can it turn into other animals as well. But my only complaint is they lack a final combination. About Ninninger I get why many people don't like it.They purposefully made it more of a comedic and silly season which is all fine but they also had many problems in the story. They could have shown more of training and growth to make us feel that yes they have become the last ninja. I just feel Ninninger was ok but not complete. I have only seen a few episodes ( around 12-13) of Goseiger so I can't tell much about it, I can evaluate better once I finish it. For Ohranger , again I have not watched it so can't tell. All super sentai seasons has its own charm and that's why I like Super Sentai.

I do agree that recently, Goseiger has gotten more love.

This list is so curious and interesting. In the case of the spanish and latam fandom, Gekiranger is one of the most popular and considered one of the best Sentai series.

I'm surprised that Gekiranger was on this list. From only watching it once, it really caught me by surprise and how they balanced the both the heroes and the villains. Ninninger definitely sucked, it was struggle to get through that show

I've just finished Goseiger and Ninninger for the first time recently and enjoyed both quite a bit Goseiger is good but is between 2 of the greatest of all time in Shinkenger and Gokaiger As for Ninninger, I tuned Takaharu out when watching and focused on the other cast members, especially Tsumuji, Kinji/Star, Kyuuemon, and Kasumi/Momo

Ninninger and Goseiger were just unpopular with fans both local and international. For me, I don't hate those series as much as other people do, and honestly, I have seen worse Sentai. Ohranger, I only saw the first episode and I find it to be a bit generic and too similar to the Sentais in the 80s in which was back to being more military-like compared to the three Sentai that came before it. Gekiranger, I would agree that it is pretty underrated, and found that the relationship between Rio and Mele is similar to Heart and Medic from Drive.

Even though my favourite sentai series is Gekiranger, I'm not too surprised that this is underrated at the time. I agree with your points actually. I'm not sure about this, just a speculation, but another reason why Gekiranger may be underrated is because it was airing along with Kamen Rider Den-O, which is a very popular series at the time so it may have overshadowed Gekiranger in a way? Other than that, really great video!!

Nice vid! I’m actually really surprised to see gekiranger in this video, amongst the people who watch it here in America, it always seems to become peoples favorites. I think for sentai fans over here there’s a lot mote mixed reputation sentai. Changeman, Fiveman, Zyuranger, Gingaman, Gaoranger, Go-Onger, Goseiger, Go-Busters, Zyuohger, Kyuranger, LuPat, and Ryusoulger are all examples of sentai that has some love and some hate. The only truly hated sentai over here from what I see is Ohranger and Ninninger.

Totally agree, Goseiger should not have used angels with cards. Save the cards for Gokaiger, which had 40 years of Sentai characters it could use on them.

In OhRanger I heard the reason they toned down the series midway was due to the terrorist attack.

Super Sentai is very interesting to me when in terms of looking over the past record of previous successful shows especially the ones before Gaoranger because I seen more people talk about the success and popularity of Ohranger and Sun Vulcan. Although I'm pretty surprised that Ohranger is in this category because I heard that Ohranger was successful with selling their toys and having a more serious story. Also, I'm saddened about Goseiger's negative reviews as well because it feels as though it wasn't warranted with the negativity of some of the viewers based on what you said.

I'm super Sentai fan like zyuranger,dairanger,kakuranger,ohranger,carranger,megaranger,kyoryuger,ninninger,ryusoulger,boukenger,goseiger,gokaiger,and gobusters. Morphinomenal

Now, what I say only works if my assumption that shinkenger was a popular season in Japan, which I do not know, but if true: Goseiger having to follow up Shinkenger is a difficult job, and it not being as good sticks out even more once Gokaiger entered the mix, it was stuck in between these 2 shows

I think reason of the Goseiger was underrated is the best Super Sentai seasons were aired at the same time they were aired, and eventually overshadowed by especially the phenomenonal seasons like Shinkenger and Gokaiger. If Ninninger does come, a little too much focus on the main protagonist might have offended viewers, and yes, it's been compared too much to Harricanger and Kakuranger. Expectation rose after a masterpiece like Harricanger, but Nininger couldn't live up to it. I can say the same for Ryusoulger. It was overshadowed by Kyoryuger and especially Abaranger, who is also considered a masterpiece. But for Ruysoulger, I can say that the prime comparison season should was Go Onger, not them. I see Ryusoulger as a much darker version of Go Onger. I think it's the best season among the seasons released after Go Busters. Another underrated season I think is Go Onger. It was a very refreshing and bright season after dark seasons like Gekiranger, but the problem in that season is that couldn't use the environment theme well and it had a leader who was not very relatable. The core members are quite likeable, but especially in the later that time, they were misused by being overshadowed by Sasuke and the sixth ranger duo. By the way I suprised that Gekiranger is so underrated in Japan because this season was one of the most praised seasons.

Here are the ones I know from my childhood in Brazil: There's Jaspion, Changeman, Flashman, first kamen raider, kamen raider black, kamen raider black rx, jiraya, jiban, winspector.... those are the ones I remember. My brother watched some older ones, like lionman. I was not born when it aired here.

As a newer american toku fan who recently began ohranger I'm surprised to hear that it's fairly unpopular in Japan! I think the mixture of ancient human technology against futuristic robots is very cool and something I haven't seen very often. What I'd be very interested in hearing about is your opinion on the Titanium Ranger from Power Rangers Light Speed Rescue. I learned that he was original to Power Rangers recently and was shocked! I want to know if you know about him and your opinion on his inclusion in the series. For me the Titanium Ranger has been one of my most formative tokusatsu memories, and finding out he was wholly american surprised me. What do you think?

Interesting, interesting... these were interesting seasons to see fan reception, because they were fairly unpopular or had weird things happen during their production. Nice to see a video on this! For me, I had a hatred towards Ninninger; I thought it epitomized the very worst of Super Sentai, mainly because of it's comedy and sub-par writing. However, upon recent viewing, I recognized its good ideas and concepts, but felt that the series never really took advantage of them. For a series meant to be fun and crazy, I felt it was restrained and tepid with its concepts and ideas, especially with the mechas... which I found disappointing.

I'm actually surprised Gekiranger was a bit mixed and they thought the Gekigrangers were too childish. I mean there was a training scene where GekiBlue is training with the Deer Master, and that master stands on top of GekiBlue and SNAPS his shoulder out of its socket. Then GekiBlue snaps it back into its socket and wins. I thought that was far from childish, but maybe that's just me. Also OhRanger did well in the US as Power Rangers Zeo. I remember toys always being sold out back then. I'm wondering if that helped haha!

I think I also heard that Fiveman is also unpopular Right? Don't know why but after watch it I think is because the villain? But from the list you put, I agreed with Nininger and Goseiger. While I found Nininger story is boring and indeed it was hard for me to keep up with takaharu but for Goseiger I think it because he was broadcast after Shinkenger and Before Gokaiger, two most popular Sentai series so Goseiger in the middle felt he was under them. But I think Goseiger had decent story even it's not the best. For me Ohranger is part of childhood, Ohranger was broadcasted in Indonesian tv in early 2000 and it was popular idk how it perform in Japan but I like it alot

First... I hate Ninninger. I hate it with a passion because the Red Ranger was just so ANNOYING. With Goseiger, I had no idea it was underrated. Though I know about it thanks to Megaforce and that mega sucked. Gekiranger is pretty obvious... the villains were more liked than the heroes and for Toei, that's like bad. Hell, I found out that the VA for Yuto was Geki while his twin brother is the voice of Yugo from Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V. That blew me away. Ohranger was just a victim of circumstance. It was to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Sentai but real life tragedies had to make them change the plot midway. It makes me wonder what their original plans for it was. I'm just curious is all. It is funny how often in western countries series are ALWAYS compared to Power Rangers. If the Sentai is better then American version (it almost always is) it is called a good series by many.

Gekiranger is in my top 10 but I agree it would have been cool if Geki Violet had his own mecha. Though since Geki Wolf combines with Geki Tiger and Jaguar it makes sense considering Red Mixed with Blue is Purple. Goseiger does kinda feel like a filler season with it being sandwiched after Shinkenger and right before the big anniversary that is Gokaiger but I love how the opening theme sounds triumphant and Goseiger had great monster designs. I like Ninninger aesthetically and the team ups with Ninja Red, Hurricane Red and Jiraiya were cool but it definitely wasn't one of the better seasons. Ohranger I cut a lot of slack considering the sarin gas terrorist attack which obviously wasn't Ohranger's fault it was just bad timing but I find it to be a very fun season despite that and that at times it can't seem to decide after certain point if it wants to be serious or comedic, Oh Red is one of my favorite Reds he's awesome, they have a lot of cool weapons and mecha and I like the shape visors on their helmets and Nijiiro Crystal Sky is one of my absolute favorite Sentai songs. I've seen a lot of fans have misconceptions that Ohranger almost cancelled the franchise but that isn't true at all. While yes it had the lowest viewership ratings at the time until Go-Busters onward it ironically and to this day has the highest toy sales out of all the Sentai series to date selling over 15.9 billion yen. As far as my least favorite seasons go it's Sun Vulcan (because of the slow pace) , Ninninger, Ryusoulger (though Bamba was cool) and Jetman to an extent. While I'm thankful it saved Sentai from cancellation and it has good moments it also had a lot flaws and it constantly gets overrated and put on a pedestal by fans. Just my opinions.

I too, my least favorites were Goseiger and Ninninger. Though I like the idea of Goseiger having different villains, but my main reason was simply the characters weren't appealing and it's too light-hearted in my opinion. I was actually excited at Ninninger before because I was expecting to be like Shinkenger but I was kinda disappointed it wasn't and the series was kinda too comedic and the characters weren't appealing to me also. Gekiranger for me is just in the okay side-- It's not the best series but it's not that bad

I think with Goseiger it suffers from a really slow start. I wasn't fond of the first arc but I will say that it ends on a high note. Starts low and ends high.

Geki is unpopular!? I think the story was fun especially the Gen Juken arc but yeah the Robot is underwhelming

Gekiranger really? I did found the Gekiranger's Martial arts motif with a mix of animals is actually a pretty fun concept. I really disliked its american adaptation where focused it on animal motif, making it too generic.

I haven't watched enough Sentai to say there is a series I didn't like (with having only Gekiranger, Magiranger, Gokaiger, and Lupin V Pataranger) Under my belt. However I will mention one I was kind of disappointed by. Lupin V Pata I don't think is bad but I was kind of disappointed as the series went on. It was clear despite the name and setup the main focus was on the Lupinrangers and even to some extent the Patarangers more or less became extras to the Lupinrangers. I think they could have done more to balance out the show.

Tho the difference is that Go-Onger and Carranger were a little more fun and had characters experience this kinda thing which develops them further. When it comes to ninjas, I think ppl would rather have something more serious on the long run but with a little comedy thrown in for good measure. 2:33, he should be called Bakaharu tbh. 6:13, the idea of the robos in Gekiranger was pretty cool. I just wish there was implementation of the toy idea to now Sentai imo. That's just me. I would love to see a Sentai series that has Robos following the style of the Brave series. That would be badass.
