Tires are one of those things where it really just depends on what you’re doing with the car. Since I daily mine I pretty much gotta run all seasons. I live in Texas and we get an extreme variety of weather.

I run the stock Dunlops in the summer(till they ware out) then Vredestein wintrack pros in the winter, and for the track/autocross fallken 660s. Other than the Dunlops this is the ultimate setup for a “one car” do it all garage. I go skiing in the winter whenever there’s snow in the forecast, and I track my car 3-4 times a year and autocross it as much as I can. I have a 2020 wrx performance pack.

Good video. 👍 Tires may not be the flashiest mod you can throw on your car, but it's definitely one of the more important ones. Also given me some things to think about when I get new tires. Leaning towards the PS4S, assuming no stock issues.

I'm running the AS4. Great 3 season tires, provides 90-95%% of the grip of a summer tire but with much better wear. If anyone put a lot of the miles on their car, might be more economical to run a performance all season tire. I have a garage queen merc that runs Potenza RE-71R and holy crap they wear like crazy, but they grip like a semi slick.

I went with the pilot sport all season 4/s because I daily my wrx and I need better thread life, and don’t wanna get caught in bad weather

I have a Nissan 370Z 6MT sport coupe that came with Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires, 245/40x19-F & 274/35x9-R. They were good handling tires but wore out after 15K miles(tires are not rotatable). The next set was the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, a great tire that got over 35K but that had vague and unresponsive steering. I now have the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2(240) tires and so far they are perfect, except that I would have to be very careful in driving them in the rain and I know they won't get as much mileage as the PS4S.

Run Michelin sport 4s w/30k warranty fyi, titan7 on the wife's daily for summer, winter use stock 19s Michelin pilot alpin studless here in the NW. Most important thing is how you connect your feet to the ground.😉

I bought some pilots sports 4s's for this summer & I didn't realize how bad my road is with gravel. They pick up everything & I cringe when I hear it as well but they perform well. went w/ 265/40

About to buy some ps4s for my summer set. Had blizzaks before and loved them for winter in the mountains. All seasons don’t satisfy my driving dynamics. About to warranty my Michelin as3+ at 20k.

Agreed on Dunlop's being overpriced and overrated, my fav tire all-time was the Michelin Pilot SS and currently on Michelin Pilot A/S 4.

I gave the Firehawk indy 500 tires a try and I love them, soft enough compound for unreal grip. I push my car realllly hard on the weekends on backroads (touge style) and I’ve never been able to “squeal” them. I run a 255/40/18 but wanna up the size to a 265/35/18

i remember doing some lapping days on the indy 500s, they definitely squeal lol. Great daily tires or for novices. Side note - if you’re pushing your car hard enough on street roads to make tires squeal you’re going way too fast

Continenental dws is a compromise, they are nowhere near as good in snow as a dedicated winter tire..i ran dunlop graspic snow tires and driving in snow with those i could bately do donuts they gripped so well. The continental DW summer tire was also better in dry and wet then the DWS ...no comparison in dry. The DW was much stickier than the DWS, DWS cant stick at higher limits of aggressive driving on an STI they will slide...The DW will not.

My STI came with the Cup2s. I swapped to the Nitto NT01 and its night and day. They stick like glue. Road noise is much more noticeable.

I had a 2017 STI too and hated the Dunlops. It blew me away that they cost around $220 each in 2019 when I got new tires. Replaced them with Michelin Pilot Super Sports and loved them

I just got a set of new Bridgestone potenza sport, which is a strong competitor for the PS4S. Absolutely love them and the price is a bit lower than the Michelins.

I got both PS4S and Cup 2. I was told not to expect much of a difference. Man, they lie; the cup 2 stick to the pavement like glue! Enjoy them

I have Michelin ps4s on the way on some Forgestar wheels, do the ps4s tires throw a lot of rocks up like the cup 2s?

Any proper summer tire gets pretty sticky in the warmer months, so it’ll collect debris more so than others. But once they wear in a bit, it’s not as bad.

That's the only downfall of this tires they don't last that long, luckily I only drive my STI during nice sunny days!
