I'm just gonna kitbash all three as I have like 12 canonesses already with every possible gear and relic loadout from 9th. Now I get to do that again, which I truly enjoy.

@@MontgomeryGarcia88 Honestly man, I've been coming to this channel for 90% of my information, and Reddit for the rest. I keep getting stuck in these indecision loops based on variants on models (dominions or battle sisters, Seraphim or Zephyrim, flamers or meltas, powersword or halberd) - what I can tell you is that, apparently, according to the good folks 'round these parts, just build what YOU think is cool. No one at our level of play is going to care what weapons your model has. That being said, if you're obsessed with getting it "right" (as I am), then watch a bunch of vids on this channel, start gathering insights, and let that guide you.

It's overkill for a lot, but if you do the 10woman serpahim + cannoness all rocking flamers, bring the enhancement for +1 to torrent weapons, then free 0cp dev wounds, you start burning through everything. Your angels who normally only like burning infantry, are suddenly a credible anti-tank threat that can consistently kill light/medium tanks. Grenades can push things further if you are really concerned, but a wound 11, t10 vehicle almost always burns down to this roving "hand flamer" squad that now feels like a pack of melta seraphim.

I am a guardsman, but I do really enjoy the way you present information. This is exactly how one should look at options they are presented with. The Halberd is clearly the best weapon in Isolation. But we don't play in isolation. This is an amazing video. Thank you.

Alternately, use those "other way" kitbashing options with a fresh box of Seraphim and just have one of each! Then use the last two as spare Superiors so you can have 11 each of Seraphim & Zephyrim that can be 2 squads of 5 or one squad of 10 as required. Y'know, if you really want to model and paint 25 jump pack models. They are cool, though.

Looking at the stats card, it's kind of odd that canoness only gets handflamer for a gun and no options or maybe that's just me. Also voted for halberd for coolness points and nothing else.

FOOL I have kitbashed mine with handflamer AND Halbert. So she is half wysiwyg no matter what. (idk for eviscerator, probably just won't run it lol)

Just paint the halberd with glowy lightning effects and you can call it a power weapon when needed.

@@OniGanon Exactly. Or say it has less attacks and strength because she is one handing it for the battle. Vs whenever she isn't bringing the hand flamer too.

helbard is still the coolest one, and using her in the detacement that let you discard up to 3 miracle dice for increased attacks and strength, popping her once per game extra attacks is 11 S8 -2 2d attacks. You can put her with 5 zephs for the reroll charge, or fly her solo as a glass canon missile that hunts characters. as for joining repentia, you will 100% of the time rather give the enchantment to a palatine for lethal sustained 5+ with full rerolls, and kill abselutly anything in the game. but yes, in most usecases the power weapon looks like the strongest general choice.

I think the canoness is just as good as the palatine with repentia, the cheaper stratagem in that detachment is very valuable in my opinion, she also makes it easier for you to make it into combat in turn 1 because she moves much further than repentia so you can basically add another +2 to your charge range before you break coherency

For the record, the reason I voted halberd is it looks cool and I love the visual idea of zooming in with such a big thing on a jump pack. But I also like the looks of the eviscerator.

I do like the power weapon a lot. Bringers of Flame detachment, the 10 Seraphims + the canoness with the +1 attack on torrent weapons enhancement, perhaps sprinkle in the devastating wounds strategem. That's a lot of fast flying fiery s5 death.

A lot of these combos and all go over my head. I find it hard enough to remember all the special rules individually, without trying to remember to combine them. I should make it clear that I chose the halberd as my favourite weapon option for the canoness purely on the look of the thing, and sight unseen on the rules at all.

I kit bashed the handflamer variant but I agree it does depend on your role for it and detatchment. It has some merit as a single model deepstrike objective completer in which case it probably doesn't matter.

Eviscerator cool-factor is everything to me. Would put it on every character model if I could just because A) Chainswords cool B) BIG chainswords = MORE cool! So yeah my vote is always Eviscerator, regardless of context or reasonability. *BEEG CHAINSWORD GO BRRR*

I am running Bringers of Flame in my crusade and today when i fired overwatch with my JP Cannoness and seraphim squad, I used the free strat to deal dev wounds and killed a venomcrawler that was at full HP. However, this was game three for and the first two games she didn't get to do anything because she got blown up too fast

Only issue might be the enhancement allowing a canoness to join repentia seems like it only applies to the canoness on foot.

We get seraphim from a mix of Greek, late Latin, and Hebrew. To top it off, it's Old English.

I don't understand why anyone would chose the halberd over the sword. It looks very generic and is almost indistinguishable from the Sacresants helberds. Also you missed out on a very strong (probably the best) combo. Canoness + sword + Zephyrim + Hallowed Martyrs Enhancement for more attacks/damage + re-roll stratagem. You can realibly oneshot a landraider when you connect the 97% deep strike charge (assuming you profit from Saint Katherines aura abilities)

Halberd is a great sculpt + Halberds are not very well represented in 40k. And two-handed swords (and chainswords) are also very cool.

Well like he said, when comparing the 3 melee weapons in a vacuum, it's the best one for fighting standard T4 W2 Space Marines. It might still be the best choice if you're not using the Flamer or Penitent detachment. I'm not sure how well getting Lethal/Sustained on a powersword compares to having +1A +1S from the halberd.
