There was an elderly lady here in Florida who almost had $10,000 stolen from her because of a Norton Antivirus scam. Fortunately her mail carrier thought the package looked suspicious, intercepted it and contacted the local sheriff's office, thereby preventing the senior citizen from getting ripped off. Keep the fight up Pierogi! Yeah I thought someone responded to my post by saying that Indians dislike this. But I see the response is no longer here.

Thanks! I'm in my 70's and first got scammed in the 80's by AOL scammer. I ended up becoming an IT Admin at a major DOE laboratory. I will say this, a good scammer is like a snowball down a mountain and you can easily get caught up in their spew. The best thing to do is 1) NEVER reply to their email. If, say its from Norton and you have a Norton account, then log out of your email and go directly to your Norton account. If it was them you will see email in that account. If there is nothing on their website, then you know it was a scammer. The old bromide "If its too good to be true it probably is not true," is wise counsel.

I've been checking in on this channel for a few months now, and in addition to the damage you're doing to scammers and doing what you can to help victims, I just realized there is one powerful, incontrovertible takeaway from all you're doing... and it's an incredibly meaningful one. The fact is, you are setting an incredible example... not only for other people who want to help in what you're doing, but I've seen two teens in our neighbourhood who are REALLY looking up to what you're doing and want to do that kind of "superhero" work themselves as soon as they can get good enough with the technology. And if that's just two kids in MY neighbourhood, I wonder how many kids around NORTH AMERICA you're setting an astonishingly good example for. Because as we all know, there are a helluva lot of bad examples in media and entertainment some kids want to emulate to varying degrees. But your kind of work here is that kind of "Lone Ranger" good-guy stuff that made such an impression on kids in the sixties and that whole era. You're showing that not only are you doing good work / amazing work in this complicated field you're in, but it's the selflessness you're showing and the attitude of helping out as altruistically as possible that makes the episodes you're filming so worthwhile. You're literally demonstrating a way of life that others can look up to, want to emulate, and feel good about doing good. Which, across the broader band of media, seems sometimes scarce as hen's teeth. Applause! Applause!! 👏👏😄😉😀👍

Easy tip: Aside from all the other red flags that more vulnerable ppl likely aren't savvy with, the biggest, easiest red flag to notice is the moment when you are told to lie about who the gift cards are for... that should stop you dead in your tracks. No legit business anywhere, at any time, for any reason, will ever ask you to lie, let alone take gift cards as a form of payment. If you only remember that and nothing else, you will safer for it.

Thank you for all you do. It's been a few years ago my wife was taken for $1200.00. She was buying gift cards and sending to this guy who she said was in New York. He had her hook line and sinker. I talked to her several times and told me she stopped. Then my paycheck was gone. Had to borrow from my son to pay our house payment. After pleading and begging with her, she finally stopped. Again, thank you for your actions in stopping these scammers.

We talk of Karma, that those lower forms of life Scammers will get what they deserve, that they will meet their Karma at some point in time... Retailers need to train their clerks when a customer comes in to buy hundreds of dollars worth of gift cards. The scammers prey on fear within the most vulnerable of us. Thank you to Scammer Payback and the other KZfaq Scambusters out there.

They scammed my mom the same way with the gift card or something along those lines for $500 a couple months back. It sucks it happed but she is much wiser now. I can't donate but I work for a company that sells giftcards and if I see someone especially am elderly person buying cards. I do question them and explain different scam styles thanks to you. I've even refused to sell cards to people. Yall do awesome stuff!! Bless yall♡
