Every English speaking country uses while in all cases apart from the UK, and while as a comparison word is used much more than whilst in the UK. But I still say whilst :D

We finally learned the main distinction between while and whilst at the end of the video. Thank you very much.

The use of "whilst" today seems to be more of a performative act done by the speaker in attempt to elevate perceived status. But I've noticed that most of these same speakers (in the moment) don't know when to use the relative pronouns "who," "whom," "whoever," and "whomever." It is as if they think the bulk of their performance rides on their use of "whilst."
