Whiny Protestor Karen Demands Columbia Cater Their Protest

At Columbia University, student protesters have escalated their demands, now insisting the university should provide them with basic necessities such as food and water. Johannah King-Slutzky, a spokesperson for the People’s University and a PhD candidate, framed this request as a fundamental issue of human rights, questioning the university's commitment to its community. "It's ultimately a question of what kind of community and obligation Columbia feels it has to its students," she argued, stressing the severity of the situation by asking if the university would allow students to suffer from dehydration and starvation.
During a press briefing, when challenged about the contradiction in the protesters' position-demanding revolutionary change while simultaneously requesting provisions from the institution they occupy-King-Slutzky defended the protesters' actions. She asserted that they were not asking the university to provide the aid directly but to not hinder their efforts to secure basic humanitarian aid. She mentioned an attempt by the university to placate the protesters with $80 GrubHub gift cards as a form of bribery rather than genuine support.
King-Slutzky, who was arrested and suspended earlier in the month, emphasized the sacrifices made by the protesters in pursuit of their cause, relating it to broader global injustices. She highlighted the dire circumstances in Gaza, drawing a parallel between the perceived minor risks taken by the students and the severe conditions faced by people in conflict zones. Her involvement in activism is extensive, with previous roles that include union stewardship and producing social justice-oriented content.
This confrontation at Columbia is part of a larger narrative of student activism that challenges educational institutions to reassess their roles and responsibilities towards their students, especially in the context of global social justice issues.

When you write another dissertation it might be about how the Columbia Hall was built without running water! Did you also need a porta potty bc their were no toilets which are flushed with water? The ‘occupiers’ certainly made plans to carry hammers, for window smashing, in their backpacks; however, they didn’t plan on packing a sandwich, cookies, and a juice box. The occupiers will not die of starvation and dehydration in that building, as they’re not being held captive. There are restrooms with sinks that have running water. Wouldn’t there possibly be a coffee station somewhere in the building? Those hungry occupiers (known as trespassers) could always walk out, leave campus, and secure coffee across the street at the nearby Starbucks or Blue Bottle Coffee shops. Oh, no! They wouldn’t be occupying the building!
