@@beyondthedetails I used to think so too but a q50 or q60 with just 5gs put into it will wipe a stock scat I’ve seen it happen personally. They need very little investment to get going

Everyone says Forged internals yet none of them know what internals need to be changed. Here ill help you all out. First go get some Diamond special coated Forged pistons, then get you some forged Manly I-beam connecting rods, ARP head studs, new Valves, lifters and springs. Have the heads ported and polished. Have the crank rebalanced and checked for any defects needs to be within a gram for perfect balance also once installed pin the crank. Get get better oil pump gears and once all of that is done then you can boost the dog piss out of it and you won't have to worry about blowing your engine and you can easily make upwards of 1200 to 1600hp and still daily it if you want. But this takes a lot of money and time if you want it all done properly. I'm only writing this as a abbreviated list of things that have to be done to boost a 392 but I don't have the time to run through an enormous laundry list of shit you would need to do to boost this thing but I figured give you a starting point

what needs to be done after this though? if i get up to 1200 at the crank how’s the stock trans and shaft gonna feel? i’m trying to shit i’m curious. where should i go for a better trans and manifolds, axels, fuel pump and intake. cause all that is gonna need changing with an engine like that in charge no?

@@Uchihaa_Ghosttfor a Hellcat Redeye, the trans starts to have issues after 1000 wheel so if you have the HP90 it should be about the same for you. Don’t do a one piece DSS if you don’t have cradle lock out done. BMR has a kit.

6.4 came out years before the hellcat. The hellcat is literally the 6.4s replacement problem is dodge doesn’t like to retire their motors.

It’s just od expensive, cause that engine was made for a better fluently working 5.7 made to 6.4 which don’t get me wrong is it a great engine just can’t handle much power without forging internals

They have a forged steel crankshaft and forged powdered metal rods. The piston is the weak spot for boost. They can only reliably handle 5-7 psi.

All this forged and built this or that crap is bs. What needs to be done is gapping the damn rings. That is what brakes shit. They brake the top of the piston when hot and the ends of the rings expand and touch with no where to go, pop. and all else follows. People are cheep and lazy. Nobody wants to pull each piston out and file off the ring ends. Cost nothing but time. once motor is apart they decide to upgrade internals. Not nessasary unless they are going for crazy boost. The engine can handle more power, just prepare it properly. Any boosted or nitrous motor needs the rings gapped or they are bombs waiting to happen

Not only forged or billet rotating assembly, but billet steel main caps as well, and all ARP engine bolts wouldn't hurt either.

6.4 Vs 6.2, I think people are forgetting hellcat basically comes built & a 6.4 is bigger & can handle the power, he just didn’t have it built 1st before boosting, he needs spark plugs, intake, throttle body, cams headers etc, 6.2 hellcat comes with all this already stock along with supercharger boost so ofc it can handle it, make it make sense car guys🤣

What do spark plugs, intake, tb, or headers have anything to do with boost? It needs forged internals and piston rings that are capable of holding boost mainly. That’s a bare minimum.

@@Generikyt the spark plugs being in the wrong heat range can cause detonation. Now, depending on the type of boost all that other stuff plays a part in “lowering overall boost”. So yea, it’s relevant. But pistons with thicker ringlands is definitely the fix.

Well as a Executive Master Engineer your missing the point, while the internals are needed their still is a major flaw. See in order to get crazy and more power from the 6.4L you don’t go bigger, you actually go smaller. See, the Supercharger performance is better on smaller column of compression then larger cubic column of intake. That’s why I go smaller. Same thing with sub woofers. If you want more power out of your subs you don’t build a bigger box, u actually build wire it for mono 1 channel hookup and put them into a smaller box, not a bigger box.

The 392 compression ratio is 10.9:1 . It needs to be destroked. That’s why I went with a 5.7 which also has a high ratio 10.5:1 but I can get away with it by gapping the piston rings. The compression ratio on the hellcat is 9.5:1.

From what I was seeing you need a 392 block out of the trucks there supposed to have thicker walls and are stronger for some reason most you should do to a 392 to is cam a good tune and a hellcat cold air intake I mean stronger piston rods and bearings would make stronger but still no boost.

6 .1 SRT8 probably handle more boost with Hellcat Redeye supercharger and hellcat cam 6.4 Hellcat Redeye V8 and upgrade the transmission and muffler delete and water pump upgrade, and give the works, also 5.7 Hemi R/T can handle more than 10 pounds of boost, 6.1 SRT8 probably can to more than 10 pounds of boost.

Na thats a challenger so the scat 25% weaker. Then gotta bind or get whipple or storker. Then you have beauty but it will easy cost 15-20 k at that point might as well get a stock hellcat. Unless you wanna spend 30 twin it up then you got a cat killer.

This a way 6.4 392 Scat Pack, you're going to need 6.2 hellcat cylinder heads , crank shaft and 6.2 hellcat cam and headers , long tube intake , 6.2 hellcat transmission, Demon Supercharger or Hellcat Supercharger or Pro Charger with turbo twins, a totaled Dodge Charger Hellcat Supercharger 6.2 engine on Hellcat Supercharger Dodge Challenger or Demon Supercharger Dodge Challenger 6.2 engine, local junkyard and salvage Yard, Auction copart, eBay has Hellcat Supercharger and Hellcat engines

As much as you want to think the engineers at Chrysler/Dodge are idiots. They built and put boost on a 6.2 knowing damn well that the 6.4 is an older inferior design. Why people want to boost a 6.4 and want to get hellcat numbers is dumbfounding. You're gonna be spending 15k+ to achieve that. You were better off saving more and just buying a cat. And it comes with a warranty.

90% of owners, well hang on 🤔 technically they’re not so much owners as they are borrower’s because most people who have these are steadily hiding from repo men, drowning in debt even though it’s a LEASE! and they live in a shoeboxes because they put all their money into the car note they can’t afford. Nevertheless, the people out driving these lack the skill to handle the car under its stock power! therefore the fact people are attempt to make it even faster is absurd. The same goes for mustang owners! these newer mustangs are insanely powerful and in the hands of amateurs who have no experience with high performance muscle cars you are playing with fire.
