After I installed a new ice maker it still didn't work with no water filling. I used your jumper instructions with jumper going from port t to n. Completed my repair! Thanks for the great video.

The tool used on the tubing “Push-To-Lock” fittings is a simple automotive door panel clip removal tool. I have 3 sizes but a little tape around the base of the tool, will eliminate scratching paint if used on a door. Different types of water valves as mine is ice only. A 1/4” line with compression fitting is used for the supply. Build date is 2010 so they keep changing. A digital photo is quick to identify the connectors or magic marker left & right. Also. Mark factory hose at fitting, take photo. Once installed after replacement gives one a better feeling is fully inserted. Just a couple of tips. Door tool can be found a Harbor Freight. If only it were this easy. The icemaker in my Kenmore side by side stopped working last week. I removed it to see if the failure was something obvious but I did notice the coating on the ice cube mold was blistered and peeling. I was able to determine what Whirlpool icemaker my fridge has, I ordered and received a brand new unit, installed it, and still no action. The new icemaker has no cycled once and there is no water being dispensed to the unit. I just checked the water valve to the icemaker and it is definitely good. I didn't just go by checking how many ohms I was getting across the solenoid coil, I also used a test cord and applied 120V to the coil. The solenoid actuated and I could hear water flowing through the valve. I then went into the freezer compartment and checked the icemaker mold tray and it is half full of water. Half full because I manually operated the fil valve and didn't want water all over the place. I am stumped. Why is nothing easy? I have over 40 years of experience fixing cars, appliances, tools, you name it and every so often I get into something like this that makes me want to scream.

Hi there and thanks for the video, very helpful... however, I'm still at a dead end. No ice being made still. The fill tube is not frozen and I just replaced the Water Inlet Valve... I've also replaced the water filter. Still no water flowing into the ice maker molds. The ice maker itself seems to be okay and is going through the motions of making ice... just no water, so no ice. Any ideas of where to look next? Thank you!

From where you buy the Fill valve ?

What about if you do all of that and the ice maker is not filling up all the way? I’ve replace water valve, ice maker and water still only fills half of the ice maker. Any suggestions?

Oh man I just ordered a new ice maker, I hope that's the issue and not that valve lol.

Just noticed while watching this video that the replacement water inlet valve wasn't seated properly into the existing metal tab on the back of the panel before installing the screw to hold it in place. I'm thinking it might create a little bit of torque on the water valve assembly.

Hello! I have Whirlpool model WRX986SIHZ01 and I have the same problem! Water is going thru but not in the icemaker! What should I do?

I was getting ice in my freezer but no water. And now I get no ice either. I replaced the water filter to a brand new filter. No water. My water button works (I hear the actuation). I then checked my crisper for ice (to see if it is frozen) and even defrosted for 3 days to be 100% certain; still no water. I replaced my water valve and ensured all water hoses are connected properly. The water from my wall comes in and runs through the water hose, up into the water filter and comes out the return line to the water valve. Water is properly flowing. The new water valve is showing appropriate resistance with a Multimeter (186/257). So if the water from the wall is pushing water up into the water valve and back down the return line to the water valve with a high rate of water flow, what could be the suspect? For some reason, I don't think the water valve is allowing water to flow through it even though the resistors show proper resistance with Multimeter tool. Is there a secondary component behind the water filter that pulls or pushes water to the dispenser? Could the computer board be suspect even if the water light is on and I can hear dispenser actuation, but no water? I am really stumped here.

Not so fast. Mine had red washers that had to be removed -before I could remove the 4 hoses. Yours however, don't appear to have the red safety washers.

What if u can hold the rest and it then fills with water but won't fill on its own

how do you know the water valve was the problem? i have water dispenser for drink, but I ain't see water in the ice tray, how do i know is the water valve?

We switched out the ice maker. we had water going to the ice maker but when we installed the new one there is no water. We cycled the new one but still no water flow. we have water to the door water dispenser. i put the hair dryer to the water outlet in case it was frozen but still no water flow...

The title of the video says diagnostics. Where is the diagnostics to find the problem?

There was NO troubleshooting and diagnostics just replacing the valve. Where is the troubleshooting to determine why you need to replace the valve as your title of video suggests???
