I have watched many of your videos and have gotten inspired by the things you do from bushcrafting to wood carving and leather crafting, so much so that I because of COVID have taken up these hobbies. All of my new hobbies are backyard bushcrafting solo overnights. Knifemaking, wood carving, and leather crafting. They are all fun and relaxing to me being retired at 57 under COVID restrictions after my dbl lung transplant in late April 2020. I have to stay busy safe and healthy. Thanks for sharing your experience with me.

Hello my friend Tom at @CimbrerBushcraft , It is good to see you teaching a young man how to do such things . My Grandfather use to make all kinds of things from wood . People would come to him to buy there handles for axes and hammers , And anything else they needed . Many times they would just drop off the hammer or axes and and he would fit the handle to them for the people , They always paid a little more for that , Not that he made much money , But it gave him something to do . I sat many times and watched him carve a handle out of Hickory and him tell me stories of when he was a boy . He has been gone many years now , But I still remember those days like it was only a few days ago . My dad passed away in 2009 , He was 74 years old . I told him once that I could remember some little something that I did as a kid , But could not remember what I did 2 days ago , LOL , He said that was a sure sign I was getting older . I am now almost 60 , And I to love to teach children howto do things . We were not blessed with grandchildren .But there other kids that I teach . It is a good thing you do my friend . I am glad to see someone doing it . Until the next time my Friend Tome,Be careful and take care of yourself .

Hi Tom: The new coffee pouch looks good. The burn out method of making a spoon is handy if you don't have a the curved carving knife. Tristan spears to be enjoying himself. Amazing! At one point your spoon looked like a mallet for knocking in tent pegs 😂 Then, two minutes later it was beautiful and delicate. You're a woodworking master. Also, good job Tristan!

Ive never heard of salt in coffee, thats a lovely spoon its very satisfying when you carve a spoon their so handy, i cant move past carving spoons lol im stuck its all i do lol any way great episode and i love your little hut anyway take care all the best 👍👍👍

I loved this video. The lens on that tinder box would work well with char cloth i have heard. I have that Mora knife Tristen has and it is a great wood working knife as well as a general use knife around the camp. I could almost smell the coffee!

Tom, When trying to make a fire with the hudson bay magnifying glass you will have more and easier success using a char of some type, I use char cloth, the blackened cloth creates an ember that you can use to blow into a fire, your new coffee spoon is great, like your new coffee bag and i have an interest in your coffee.........ty for sharing.
