The rules were simple: one person would wear headphones with loud music playing, and the other person would say a phrase that they had to guess by reading their lips. Price went first, putting on the headphones and adjusting the volume. Van Gerwen picked up a card from a stack that had random phrases written on them. He looked at it and smirked. “Ready?” he asked. Price nodded, trying to focus on van Gerwen’s mouth. Van Gerwen said the phrase: “You are a better player than me.” Price frowned, not sure what he heard. He repeated what he thought van Gerwen said: “You have a feather in your hair?” Van Gerwen laughed, shaking his head. He said it again: “You are a better player than me.” Price still couldn’t get it. He guessed again: “You want to wear my sweater?” Van Gerwen burst out laughing, almost dropping the card. He took off Price’s headphones and told him what he really said. Price rolled his eyes, not believing him. He grabbed another card and handed it to van Gerwen. “Your turn,” he said. Van Gerwen put on the headphones and gave Price a thumbs up. Price looked at the card and smiled wickedly. He said the phrase: “I have a crush on you.” Van Gerwen blinked, confused by what he saw. He repeated what he thought Price said: “You have a brush for me?” Price shook his head, trying not to laugh. He said it again: “I have a crush on you.” Van Gerwen still didn’t get it. He guessed again: “You want to flush with me?” Price couldn’t hold back his laughter anymore. He took off van Gerwen’s headphones and told him what he really said. Van Gerwen blushed, not expecting that. He looked away from Price’s eyes. “Is that true?” he asked nervously. Price shrugged, feeling bold. “Maybe,” he said. They stared at each other for a moment, feeling something between them. Then they leaned in and kissed.
