Walk around of our White 4-225. Powered by a turbocharged V8 Cat 3208, it's the big horse on our farm. I give some history of the tractor, and then take it out to the field with the Glencoe with the deep till shanks down.

Funny to see a hood ornament on a tractor. That's a keeper for sure!
@ThatOliverGuyChris5 жыл бұрын
Hood ornaments aren't something you see any more. When AGCO introduced the 6000 series powershift tractors, they didn't have a hood ornament on them. The dealers and customers made enough requests, that they started putting a hood ornament on again. This was in the early days of auto steer, back when farmers needed something to line up for straight rows.

I know this is old, but i have what may seem to be a dumb question. What does over/under mean on these older tractors in the transmissions?
@ThatOliverGuyChris Жыл бұрын
The over/under is a three speed, shift on the go auxiliary transmission that is between the engine and main transmission. It has under drive, which slows the transmission by about 20%, direct drive which has the input and output speed the same, and overdrive which speeds up the transmission by about 20%. The main transmission has 6 manual forward gears. You pick the one that best suits your needs, then while you are in that gear you can shift the over/under up and down as the load requires, without clutching.

@ThatOliverGuyChris5 жыл бұрын
The biggest articulating White that was in production was the 4-270. They did make 4(ish) 4-325 tractors for testing and did eventually sell them, but they were never a production model. Yes, I grew up doing both. When I wasn't out in the fields, I was in the shop turning wrenches. That’s got to be the best original paint I’ve seen on a white 4wd! Was that 4th remote a factory option on the 225? They only have 3 slots in the 210. That rear diff lock would be nice. Since u got original tires is most ur ground pretty close to your farm? Great video are we going to see this on the dyno day when u do the 185
@ThatOliverGuyChris5 жыл бұрын
I personally installed the 4th valve, and it was just a matter of putting the parts on. Slot was already in the console and labeled. Does the 210 only have diff lock on the front? I'm very fortunate, my farthest ground is only 3 miles away. I was thinking of putting it on the dyno as well, last time we did it was turning 212, but that was quite a few years ago.

I've put a set of injectors in as preventative maintenance, but that has been quite a few years. Other than that, its untouched. I'm going to pull the injection pump after spring work to dry up some leaks it has developed and figured I had better roll in some new bearings while I'm at it.
