Adult coloring book colorists, in particular, under utilize this white pencil. I have about 3-5 of these. They last a very long time, are well made and retail for about $4 each.

I like to use colored pencils on toned paper, and often on pastel paper of a dark tone. Then I can use the white a lot. So I keep several whites on hand. I use them a lot.

Thank you! There is so much to learn about coloring if you really want to. The need and use of white pencils have been something I have often wondered about. Now I will these techniques to really add something extra to my projects. I appreciate the work you put into your videos!

I learn something from you with every video of yours that I watch.I am completely self taught with multiple art medias. Many times I'll watch a video or read a book or have even taken classes and found that I'd already figured out so many things already that I thought were quite simple that the books/video/instructor either didn't give all the info on what you can do with a certain method, or were completely unaware of various methods. I must admit though, it's very time consuming to discover things on my own. Colored pencils are things I've played with, but never in depth and you are saving me a great deal of time. What I really appreciate is you don't say "This is the only way you should do this." You express what you like and why, and then you demonstrate what you don't like and do, so your viewers can decide what they like for themselves. To me, that's the best kind of instructor there is.

Really good informative video,....I used white as a blender for years...prismacolor pencils were my primary pencil and i went through a lot of white pencils...i just got a 120 set of Polychromos, and a 20 set of Luminance, because i grew tired of dealing with wax bloom and lead breakage with the prismacolors...I got the Luminance primarily for the white pencil because of its opacity....im still experimenting to see the best methodology to use with these brands.

Nice collection! I am thinking I should have gotten the 120 set of polychromos instead of the 60 but I'm still loving the polychromos. My experience with the prismacolor confirms yours. I love my set of 20 luminance too.

A couple things to note about blending: I personally like to use an arteza white because its soft, and very buildable, if you press lightly you get that nice soft blending effect that maintains the pigment of the color, and if you press hard you get a nice solid white. Also, i like to blend the opposite way that ive colored. If my base colors all go left/right i go (lightly) left/right then VERY lightly up/down to kind of soften the grainy effect color pencil has. Sorry to type a lot, but if anyone was wondering on tips for blending with white, here ya go 🥰🥰

I don't mean to be creepy or anything but I just want to put out there that I love your hands, I've watched many of your videos now and really appreciate your advice and work, but your hands woman! Omg they're beautiful they are especially at the point where your fingernails begin, the clean contrast between your nail beds and dark skin. About the white pencil though; I feel dumb now for not thinking of using them to preserve highlights prior to applying color ... ugh especially since I sometimes use the white to seal a section so that I can just swipe soft pastels over the whole background and the the white will prevent the pastel pigment from settling over anything I colored

Great examples. Good idea to always stock up on white. It seems to be a color that is never in stock when you need it.

I am quite new to this world of art and all things colored pencil and I'm totally enjoying myself. Since professional lessons are beyond my budget, I am learning from the internet and KZfaq. (Come to think of it, I AM actually getting free professional lessons from all the experts who share their years and wealth of knowledge on the internet!) I am finding that there is at least one gold nugget of info to be picked up in each KZfaq video. When I begin to think that I am already familiar with the speaker's topic, that's when there's suddenly something new for me to take note of. In this video, it was the way you use the kneadable eraser to remove color. Not only clever, but important when trying to preserve the integrity of the drawing paper! Thanks so much for sharing and I'm looking forward to learning more!

Thank you for this....I also read the Lyra Rembrandt White Pencil was a good one as well as the Faber Castell's Chinese White "drawing" pencil. I recently ordered the "touch up texture" and "titanium white powder" from Brush and Pencil's website to mix as an opaque white over colored pencil....I just received it today so I haven't had a chance to try it yet but I've seen lots of videos on KZfaq about it...just thought I would share the info that I've found. I have a luminance white too and it's amazing but I'm so anxious to try the brush and pencil products. Love your channel and enjoy all your videos...xoxo

actually, the prismacolor blender works well. it's the prismacolor lilac that just bunches up into lumps and hates my other pencils. it either has to be the top layer or the only pencil used. it's just a snob 😉

Lauri Rivera de que parte de chile? en cualquier nacional, lapiz lopez, cualquier libreria que tengas cerca probablemente los tenga, he visto en varias partes, tambien he visto cajas con varios lapices para dibujar que incluyen uno de esos asique en cuaqluier libreria yo digo que se puede encontrar peero si tienes una lapiz lopez o una nacional cerca, anda a esa

Hola, mira anda a la ColorAnimal que queda en Providencia (pa que te vai a pegar el pique a Vitacura) y compra los mejores: Prismacolors. Claro que valen un ojo de la cara, pero son los mejores. No sé si aquí los muestran, no vi el video completo. Lo malo es que no los venden de a uno, una pena. También están los Caran D'Ache (son todavía + caros XD) pero en una de esas te sirven. Yo me quedo con mis Prismas de todas formas. Otro lugar donde los venden es en la Plop! que queda en el Barrio Lastarria. Ah, y también en la Librería de Arquitectura o como se llame que queda en Av. Portugal, cerca de la Católica. Chaup

I just found your channel today. I enjoyed watching your video, and seeing the different brands. I've used Prismacolor, Prismacolor Scholar, Zenacolor, and Crayola. Some of the cheaper ones aren't useful at all. From what I've used, I prefer the Prismacolor. I'm seriously considering purchasing a couple of the better brands from Blick since they cost too much at Hobby Lobby and probably at Michael's. Thanks for the information. I've just subscribed, and I look forward to your other videos

I didn't have any black paper but tried it on brown grocery bag and it worked nice! Budget friendly gift wrap & tags with white stitching looks cute. I used a pc 938. Karia's ideas here are great. Thank you Karia! ⭐️

I would really love to know how to make the moon color of silvery white. I have silver colored pencils and various white ones including Caran D'Ache. I would deeply appreciate any tips on how to accomplish the glowing moon look for the moons in my coloring. Thank you for any help!

Debra Kajer if you want the moon to look white, you'll need a dark background. Keep a circle in the center of the sky uncolored, so that you can use your silver and white. I'd say layer the white first, then draw on the silver unevenly, matching the patterns on the surface if you want. Blend with white, and there you go

I don’t know where to buy some in every nation but Jackson’s art and blick art supplies both sell white pencils in various brands.
