I'm a nurse too. I dig all the gross stuff. Poop don't bother me at all some smell really bad but my family owns a septic tank business so I've kinda gone nose blind to the smell of poop so I don't gag like some people. Blood dont bother I just worry about the volume being lost. Vomit can be smelly and gross but I have no problem handling it. abscesses are super fun to drain and stuff. the only thing I hate was this one time I had an older man with a history of dementia in the icu, he was getting better we were just waiting for a room to open up in med surg or telemety or something. Anyways he had a bit of a cough and would hock phlegm in a cup but sometimes he would be out of it and he started hocking these big thick green loogies into his hand and he started just collecting them on the bedside rail. I stopped in to check on him, he was pleasant enough I leaned over the bedside rail to take his vitals and felt the cold wet sensation on my left mid thigh not too far from my private area. I step back to check what it is and I find the nastiest smelliest wettest most viscous green oyster I have ever seen that had now penetrated my scrub pants and seeped to where my skin was now wet . I have always remained professional but this was the one time I lost my shit and started just cursing not at the patient but at the disgust and the situation "Goddammitt SOB Why god!???? That's fucking disgusting " Luckily the patient was so out of it he didn't even care and just smiled at me. Moral of the story is Sputum of all freaking things I now count as the only thing that grossed me out in the field of nursing, that and I had to put a foley or a condom cath on a male patient and I went to pull his foreskin back and there looked like about 1/8 cup of penis cheese harboring under his foreskin beneath the glans. I love pimple popper videos as much as anyone but that dick cheese moment was nothing like that.
