Very rare birds seen and filmed circling over RSPB Strumpshaw Fen, 4 White Storks! As you can see from the clip, they appear to be landing, but the trees got in the way. They last bred in Scotland in 1416 (the year not the time!)

I met you briefly at RSPB Strumpshaw Fen yesterday Tony, and you shared your video with the volunteer and myself. Having shared it with professional bird surveyors, it would appear that you're spot on with your identification. Nice one, and four of them to boot.

Hi Tony, these are Common Cranes. Still a great sighting, but thought I’d let you know in case you submit the record. If you pause the video at 17 seconds you can see that the plumage and shape fits Crane much better. These birds were also seen and photographed well over Brundall. Thanks
