This video is your shortcut to making better whiteboard videos. So if you want to raise the quality of your videos, these 8 tips are for you.
🔸🔶🔸 FREE VYOND MINI-COURSE 👉 ruedriis.com/o...
Here are the 8 tips, I'll go over in this video:
00:00 - INTRO
Before we get started, I'm telling you about my 3 years of experience, with more than 200 videos under the belt.
00:18 - KEEP THE PEN ALIVE
In the first tip, I'll show you how you can make your animation video more engaging by keeping the pen alive at all times.
01:00 - IMITATE A REAL WHITEBOARD
Then I'll show you can take the best from real hand-drawn whiteboard videos and use in tools like Vyond and Videoscribe.
02:12 - DON'T IMPORT PROPS
Next up, I'll show you some do's and dont's when you want to import your own illustrations and pictures into your video.
02:38 - KEEP THE VOICE OVER GOING
This tip is huge! Your video's voice-over is the backbone of your whiteboard animations. The speak dictates what the hand draws. Therefore, you want to keep the voice-over going.
03:03 - SAVE TIME BY STICKING TO ESSENTIALS
After that, I'll give you my best advice on what to leave out of your video. If you are short on time, you'll like these tips on leaving out sound-effects, exit effects, scene transitions and camera movement.
03:52 - USE BETTER MUSIC
To be honest, the music libraries in most animation tools like Vyond, Animker and Videoscribe are not the best. To raise the quality of your video, you want to look for music on e.g. KZfaq and Wistia instead.
04:20 - MIX STYLES GENTLY
Towards the end, I'll share my view on how to mix styles the right way. Whiteboard drawings and full-color animations can work well together. But you need to consider the colors and effects you use.
04:54 - MATCH ANIMATIONS AND VOICE OVER 1-1
Finally, I'll show you how to match animations and voice over. This is the golden rule I use in all my courses back at RuedRiis.com. And it works beautifully!
All in all, you'll have a list of tips that will help you create better whiteboard animations that get more views, longer watch-time and happy subscribers. Enjoy!

Made my first custom made whiteboard animation with your tips using illustrator and after effects. To imitate real whiteboard I kept my strokes size consistent and just used two widths throughout the video (It was easier too). For transition, I found that doing a erase type animation with a very thick stroke works great. Looking forward for more such videos. Btw I would love it if you can take a look at it and let me know how is it and if I can improve in some way. You can recognize the video from the whiteboard style thumbnail.

I think it looks awesome - really well done! One thing you can work on is strengthening of the connection between 1) voice-over and 2) animations. Sometimes, it's hard to see the immediate relation between the two - as a viewer of your video. Keep up the good work! Rued

Thank you for this video and your tips, it looks great too. The whole whiteboard animation process is starting to seem much easier now! Can you tell me what font type did you use for the "MY BEST TIPS" text in the initial scene? (I'll be creating my first test videos.) By the way, both VideoScribe and Doodly now allow you to import images and props with the added benefit of allowing you to create draw paths for the imported stuff -- making them look exactly as the native imagery.
@RuedRiisCom
@RuedRiisCom 3 жыл бұрын
I think the font was called something with "hand". It's one of the default in Vyond, so you'll find it easily. Yes, I hear that but it doesn't seem that interesting to me.. I work fast and use what the tools have already - rarely important anything other than logos, which I let remain as they are. How do you use it?
@redhotmustang

@@RuedRiisCom Thanks for your reply and info. I think I am going to design some elements (characters and props) myself and then import them into the whiteboard tool I'll be using and creating the necessary draw paths to make it look like they're native to the tool. The thing is that I don't seem to find all the elements I need in the tool (or maybe I'm not looking hard enough). :-) Well, these are only my plans. I've been doing some other research first before actually taking the plunge and start doing it. Keep up the good work!

@RuedRiisCom
@RuedRiisCom Жыл бұрын
It takes practice indeed. My best tip is to think of visuals that support and elaborate on the voice-over. Less is more, and delete anything that confuses more than it helps. Timing-wise, it's a technical thing - you need the sync in order for it to be easily digestible.

There are a lot of complaints from creators on KZfaq support website that their channels were denied monetization because they use whiteboard software. (Even if the content was original and they used human voiceovers). Apparently, it fails the "autogenerated" policy just because the software (VideoScribe.. etc) that automatically draws the images was used.
@RuedRiisCom
@RuedRiisCom 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that sounds wrong. Are you sure that's the reason why? Because then you should ban all tools that help you create animations - like the ones I use. If VideoScribe is the only tool being questioned, consider doing your whiteboard-videos with Vyond instead. Rued

great video! how many hours does it take to do it? And another question, don't you think that with videoscribe it becomes faster?
@RuedRiisCom
@RuedRiisCom 3 жыл бұрын
Took 1-2 days to do the full thing, I think. Hm, hard to say, I work faster in Vyond, but yeah VideoScribe is able to give you something pretty quickly, but then there's the question of whether that something is valuable and interesting enough to watch.

@RuedRiisCom
@RuedRiisCom 4 жыл бұрын
Good question :) In total, I think I spent 6-8 hours on writing, narrating and animating for this video. Although it was spread out over 3 days, in between other tasks. If you are super efficient with your work, using what I call "The Explainer Pyramid" with writing, narrating and animating in that order, you could have a video done in 1-2 days.

Hello, First great work! I have one question this type of video (video which is created be software "autogenerated") can be monetize?
@RuedRiisCom
@RuedRiisCom 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. This isn't auto-generated-took 8-10 hours to do the animations, 1 hour to do the voice-over and 3-4 hours to research for and write the script. So it's original work, and that can be monetized on KZfaq without a problem.

Dear Rued is paying Doodly one time is better or the monthly and annualy way is better
@RuedRiisCom

They have a complex pricing setup-but I believe the one-time thing is close to worthless, as it will prompt you to upgrade all the time. I'd say an annual subscription is probably the best, if you've decided this is something you want to learn and use for real.
