Investing in mutual funds offers a structured and diversified approach to building wealth, managed by professional fund managers. While there are costs and some limitations, the benefits of diversification, professional management, and ease of access make mutual funds a popular choice for achieving a variety of financial goals.

Exactly, I used to doubt the value of a financial advisor until my wife's company assigned her an investment adviser in 2020. Honestly, it’s been the best financial decision I’ve made. It helped tremendously; I went from barely making any profit to having a well-diversified portfolio that has grown significantly, with gains exceeding $850k.

Investing in the stock market has HISTORICALLY provided higher returns than other forms of investment. According to Morningstar, the average annual return for the S&P 500 index, which measures the performance of 500 large-cap stocks, was approximately 10% from 1926 to 2020.

Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are alot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.

The best course of action if you lack market knowledge is to ask a consultant or investing coach for guidance or assistance. Speaking with a consultant helped me stay afloat in the market and grow my portfolio to about 65% since January, even though I know it sounds obvious or generic. I believe that is the most effective way to enter the business at the moment.

Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too, jokingly.

This guy has great information, speaks well. The only dislike is, the commercials that he has popping up every few minutes are long infomercials, and unless you are sitting at the pc to click the SKIP button, his video literally becomes a whole new video about some health supplement. Prefer if your going to have constant pop up Ads, that they be 15 seconds or maybe 1 minute, but it is irritating that i have to constantly go back to my pc and click SKIP or else am stuck listening to a whole new video that has nothing to do with investments.

Percentage fees have the same effect at all portfolio sizes. The clue is in the percentage part. The two factors that make fees "seem" worse is in times of poor returns as they become bigger drag on the growth and over time as they neutralise compounding.

Hey Marko. Great video again and thanks for sharing. You probably missed mentioning about the auto investment feature. For passive DCA strategy this is a huge advantage of mutual funds over ETF's. I wish it was easily possible to auto invest in ETF's on every platform. This is the sole reason I bought VTSAX instead of VTI in Vanguard. Using M1 finance could arguably be an exception although it still has limitations.

this is precisely why I use M1 finance. I set my weights, and just dollar cost average.

@@WhiteBoardFinance How do you feel on "more time in the market" (investing lump sum in the beginning of the year) vs. DCA? Don't you feel DCA is only good to satisfy your emotions? Just wondering.

Question: If one has say $20k to invest. There is index fund A and index fund B. "A" is say $200/share and B is $100/share Wouldn't it be wiser to invest in the cheaper index fund? Meaning you would be able to buy more shares. So if the shares on both A and B went up the SAME DOLLAR AMOUNT you would have more share therefore more profit? Also, in this inflated economy with a crash looming in my opinion, wouldnt it be wiser to wait for said crash? Asking in regards to the "timing the market vs time in the market" strategy.

Great One!!! I took sooo many notes. I'm a missionary and I have someone managing my funds at 2.5% interest. How much should my portfolio manager make for me extra, to make it worth while to keep the manager?

VTSAX, VFIAX, FXAIX, FSMDX, FSSNX, only because my 401K & HSA only offer specific funds, all investments are some for of retirement.

I have the majority of my investment on Canadian Bond Index fund from Manulife. With the rising inflation rate, should I keep it there or should I move it equity or some other funds?
