Conclusion: We need to recognize Hayoung as a Main Dancer too and give more opportunities for Chaeyeong and Hayoung to show off their dancing because the choreography doesn't do them justice a lot of the times.

Considering their songs aren't dance focused (not even a killer dance break tho) likely, they just need maturity to conceal more genres. Glad they're already exploring since their transfer tho

Main dancer AND a main vocal. That's rare. She's only given the lead vocal position because she would be too OP.

Hayoung's dancing skills are actually very professional since during her pre debut she was an underground hip-hop dancer! Korean netizens even nominated her among other 9 well-known idols (such as Lisa and Kai) as top 10 idols who are able to compete against dancers in Street Women Dancers ^^ Pledis MUST SHOWCASE her talents!

As a predebut flover since Feel Good, yes, but maybe it's not that i really not see her as a main dancer but maybe it's not noticeable since since Feel Good to Talk & Talk, there were no dancebreaks unlike for main vocals which are noticable with tje highnotes and adlibs.

Yess me too. When I first discovered fromis 9, I thought Saerom was their main dancer, hayoung and jiwon their main vocals. I guess becoz as the video also stated, Saerom has the best facial expressions among the members. However when you watch the whole fancam of them dancing or them covering other artists' song, I can actually saw why Hayoung the main dancer, she dances cleanly(?) compared to other members

In my opinion, I really like when jiheon dance part “du du du du du du du…” in talk&talk. When she relax her hand in that part I think it look more clean and natural than fix hand like other member. And when I try to dance that part like her, I found that is very hard. So I give up already.

This is also my opinion 1st - Song Hayoung 2nd - Lee Chaeyoung 3rd - Lee Seoyeon 4th - Lee Saerom 5th - Baek Jiheon 6th - Lee Nagyung 7th - Jang Gyuri 8th - Park Jiwon 9th - Roh Jisun I'm a flover and all of their videos i already watched and that is my ranking about their dance performance.

By any chance did you watch Saeroms’s cover of “Lights on” and “I love you”? I’d love to hear your opinion, because they are breathtaking. I mostly agree with your ranking, although I was surprised to see Gyuri so low, I thought she was better than Jisun, but makes me happy to see Jisun in a higher ranking than I thought 😅

Wow really wow, you changed my mind about Nagyung dance skills! I have always seen her as an ordinary dancer with gyuri that they don't have something power but now I think she is five, soeyeon better than her for me

Wow same here! I also thought that way but to think about it more, I'd place her 5th and Seoyeon 4th. I'd like to see them just like Saerom and Chaeyoung; Nakyung is a better idol dancer while Seoyeon is a better overall one

i got into fromis_9 before we go era and i love them but i saw that both hayoung and chaeyoung are the main dancers but i dont see them having opportunities to show off their skills like other groups? am i missing something?

At masked singer, hayoung has shown his dancing skills. In my opinion, Chaeyoung and Hayoung want to show their vocal skills more than their dancing skills. It can be seen on the flaylist (fromis_9 cover dance & song), only Saerom did the dance, while Hayoung and Chaeyoung chose the cover song :v

This is interesting as a non-dancer with an untrained eye. I would have chosen Seoyeon first. She was a top dancer since her YG trainee days, performing as a kid with TOP and G-Dragon, then with the Blackpink girls in the next 2ne1. Whenever they demonstrate choreo they usually pick Seoyeon, and Seoyeon made it to the end of the HYBE dance off because she knew all the choreo by heart. So I can’t disagree with your criticism of Seoyeon, but as an idol dancer I get the impression she is the fastest study in the group with the most choreos in her brain.

i havent seen that many fromis dance rankings, but i think this is the first time ive seen jiheon at 9! i was a little surprised, but tbh i think maybe the overdancing and the facial expressions kinda makes up for it, so people look past it? very interesting, thanks for doing fromis!

maybe not "makes up for it", but i think i mightve been seeing lists by non-dancers, from what ive noticed, dancers will notice overdancers while nondancers dont really notice it unless its REALLY overdancing?

Hayoung and Jiwon are my bias in Fromis but i seriously didn't know HY is the main dancer tbh😅 Maybe fromis9 dance didn't do justice to her skills etc (I'm new in stanning fromis) I thought HY is like the second main vocal after JW or something like that Been stanning Izone but now they are gone i think fromis is somewhat similar to them. Love their goofiness 😅

I almost predicted your ranking although I put Chaeyoung as no. 1 and Seoyeon for my no. 3. Chaeyoung for over Hayoung (interchangeable) mostly because I always notice that Hayoung tend to almost have a blank expression whenever she dance like she's too focused on the choreography instead of freely flowing with the music which on the other hand, Chaeng does really well while still executing details and textures. But all in all they're all great.

For me chaeyoung is a better dancer than hayoung, Hayoung doesn't have that great control of energy she sometimes dances too much, and sometimes dances freely, but chaeyoung has a good control so she's able to match the energy of other members, but i love them both!
