David,such a long rockin' career and arguably one of the best rock singers of all time.Whitesnake,certainly up in the top 5 of my favorite bands from the 80's.There comes a time though, when it is best just to remember what was rather than trying to re-live what was.

Great song... and I'll listen him sing it as long as he likes. All the people criticizing the great rock vocalists from the 70s and 80s who are now, like all of us, much older and far less capable, should just pass on watching the videos. Why come here and lambaste a nearly 70 year old man who's still out there bringing real music, not what today's generations consider music, to fans of the rock genre? No, he cannot sing like he once could... nor can Ozzy, Plant, Stanley, Roth, Geddy Lee, Joe Elliott, Brian Johnson, or many others. The bands are still tight, though, and guitar heroes like EVH still sound great, and the experience of seeing these bands is still a fun one. It will not last much longer, so stop criticizing and telling them to go away, because when they're gone, then what's left in live music are the Biebers, Swifts, and rappers of the millennial world, and I'd rather watch Coverdale or Roth half sing, half talk their way through classic material in a wheelchair than to listen to any of today's musicians/hiphoppers do anything.

So, no band sounds perfect live, especially when the singer does not mime his performance like many do. Also, of course he doesn't sound like he is 25 years old - he is nearly 70. But bloody glad he is still out there doing it. How about we don't pick holes in everything and just go see them live & enjoy ourselves.

He’s not doing it for free. So we should all feel sorry for a person who is collecting money from fans who have supported his music for over 40 years because they actually expect him to ….uh….sing? If the average old man cover band in the average classic rock bar/club sounded this awful they would get heckled, yet u think Mr. Rockstar deserves better?? Lol Good lord, how have average working class human beings become such apologists for corporate greed?? He wants the payday but cant deliver the goods. Thats called a rip-off.
@anonanon5268 ай бұрын
@@friedricengravy6646 Thanks for your odd comments 4 years on - I still stand by what I said. I have seen performances by Meatloaf, Paul Di'anno and Blaze Bayley, Motley Crue etc etc and even though you could argue they were not at their peak - in one way or another it was worth it for me. I saw Michael Jackson in '96. He mimed a lot of it but it was awesome - and now he is dead so yeah, glad I went. Vince from Motley Crue actually tries to sing, isn't very good but at least it's him doing it live. And yes, The Rolling Stones are a freak of nature not everyone can be as good as them, at 80.

Time to call it a day David and let’s remember you for the great days when you were a world class hard rock singer.

Burn at California jam was about as good as Purple ever was, its 45 years ago and David was a very young man, Glenn Hughes who was on bass and vocals as well then still sounds fantastic even though he almost drank/drugged himself to death and is the same age. By the sounds of this video it seems that its time to pack it up.
