I was a young teen when this came out …and I’ve loved it for almost 40 years now …just puts me into that warm nostalgia✨

Tawny Kitaen was the model in the video... She met Whitesnake singer David Coverdale on the music video 'Still of the night' in 1987... Kitaen and Coverdale became a couple and she appeared on the next video 'Is this love'... and then a 3rd video 'Here I go again'... Coverdale wrote the Whitesnake song "Kitten's got claws" about her in 1989. Coverdale and Kitaen got married for a few years but split bitterly in 1991... Before that Tawny Kitaen was the girlfriend of Ratt guitarist Robbin Crosby... She appeared on the cover of Ratt's 1984 album 'Out of the cellar'... and appeared in the Ratt music video 'Back for more'... She became a Hollywood movie actress and was briefly involved w/ one O.J. Simpson... Unfortunately, the years after splitting from David Coverdale were not kind to her... She remarried but that ended in divorce after she attacked her husband and was arrested... She spoke fondly of her ex Robbin Crosby, who contracted AIDS and died in 2002 from an OD. Tawny Kitaen passed away in 2021. Before he formed Whitesnake in 1978, singer David Coverdale rose to fame in 1974 after he joined Deep Purple on vocals, replacing their classic singer Ian Gillan... and recorded 2 of their biggest albums - 'Burn'... and 'Stormbringer'... But after guitarist Ritchie Blackmore left Deep Purple in '75, the next album 'Come taste the band' w/ guitarist Tommy Bolin was a commercial disappointment and Deep Purple split up in 1976. Launching his solo career in 1977, David Coverdale named his new band Whitesnake (after his second solo album - a comical reference to his 'thang') and debuted in 1978 w/ the album 'Trouble'... Whitesnake became a hit in Europe, the Asia by the 80's... America embraced Whitesnake in 1987 as their self-titled album sold 8x platinum in the US w/ their trio of MTV hits starring model/actress Tawny Kitaen... Their next album 'Slip of the tongue'... produced the hits - 'Judgement day' ... "Now you're gone" ... 'Fool for your loving'... Sadly, Coverdale disbanded Whitesnake in 1991 after his divorce from Kitaen... He recorded 1 album as 'Coverdale.Page' w/ Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page in 1993... producing the songs - 'Shake my tree' ... 'Pride & joy' In 2002, David Coverdale finally reactivated Whitesnake w/ new members & kept the band going... However, Coverdale's recent health issues suggest that he might be retiring (if he hasn't already)

I was in the concert here in Costa Rica some years ago, and wow, I could see old and young couples singing with the band, it was amazing.... This is one of the best rock ballads in my opinion

80's was that Ballad/Party era. It was fun. Grunge changed things in the 90's and don't get me started on modern music.

In the 80s, everything was more direct, passionate, and uncensored. I was lucky to live through that decade, and even though I was a child, I enjoyed it by learning from the adults. Those were incredibly creative years (music, cinema...), and the relationship in the music video is not toxic at all, it's human. In those years, elegance and doing things well were valued. Now, vulgarity and other crap like that are valued. It's my opinion, but I think it's completely normal that hot girls appeared in 80s music videos... What kind of girl do you want to put next to a man like David Coverdale? :D The thing is, now, as I said, we are all hypocrites, and with so much sexual diversity, people are lost (in translation) 🤪

"Here I Go Again", "Fool For Your Loving" and "Still of the Night" are pretty mandatory to check out if you haven't. Might like "Richie Sambora - Church Of Desire" also.. similar vibes. Off topic, although still 80's. "Survivor" has a song with same name. Is This Love. Also pretty good.

I grew up in the 80s and absolutely love the music, it's pretty much all I can stand to listen to now as well. Our motto was "Sex, Drugs, and Rock n' Roll", and we had SO much fun! I attended many, many concerts throughout the "Decade of Decadence", beginning with my very first show which was Van Halen's "1980 Invasion Tour"...

80´Hard rock Whitesnake are great, but 70´s more bluesy Whitesnake are another level, and i think you would enjoy more. Songs like "Take me with you", "Trouble", "Long way from home", "Walking in the shadow of the blues", "Help me thro the day", "Love hunter", "Ready an willing", "Blindman", "Ain´t gonna cry no more", "Don´t break my heart again", "Peace lovin man", "Hole in the sky", "Only my soul". Or more modern stuff like: "All or nothing", "Slide it in", "Standing in the shadow", "Looking for love", "Children of the night", "Wings of the storm", "Judgement day", "Sailing ships", "Don´t fade away", "Too many tears", etc, etc ......all better songs than the same 2 that most people usually recommend ....

Try Girls Girls Girls by Motley Crue. They are very clean and wholesome rock band from the 80.
