Ce Ce Winans / Whitney Houston Interview, Odyssey Channel, 1998.
This interview almost didn't happen. Whitney was in town for the Dove Awards (and another duet with Ce Ce) but had no plans to appear on CeCe's Place At the last minute, CeCe's brother Be Be pulled out of his appearance, and the producers politely pulled strings to get Whitney to do this favor for CeCe -- and us. Security was tight and I didn't see Whitney until she walked on the set for our interview and this performance. Bobby Brown, on the other hand, walked around freely and made his presence very obvious (you can see him stand and applaud right within the camera frame at the end of the song segment clip, linked below). The interview and performance were featured on "Entertainment Tonight" a short while later on the strength of news that Whitney had announced a film collaboration with Will Smith. (This deal never actually reached beyond its initial stages.)
A bit of TV history...right there on a little Nashville sound stage.

This was such a strong healthy friendship for so long even until she passed.

Really? Why was there never an intervention? If they were so close like sisters, why did Whitney suffer and get so out of control?

Because... 1. Adults make their own decisions in life. 2. Addiction is an illness. Also, there were multiple interventions which CeCe was present for and led. Whitney would also frequently stay with CeCe at her home and CeCe would go to Whitney. This is well documented in Mother Cissy and Robyn's books as well as various interviews.

@@keepthechange1 Whitney was an adult Cece tried to help Whitney. My only thing is, if Whitney was like a sister to Whitney and her daughters God mom why didn’t she do more to help her Goddaughter?

Its so painfull to see Whitney already here in physical decline.. But thank God she made a shift at the end of her life.

CeCe was Bobbi Kri’s Godmother, yet Pat had permissions and rights to pull the plug on her. Something is off. I don’t buy the friendship story. I believe CeCe was made to be friends from a distance. I could be wrong but something isn’t right.

Godparents don't have legal rights. Pat, as the executor of Whitney's estate, would have that legal authority.

@@ebouhoward8287 I wasn’t suggesting that God Parents have legal rights. However, if the parents put in writing that they are legal quatrains in their absence, such as Power of Attorney, it is then legal. I’m also stating that it’s odd that an aunt had more power than her actual surviving father. The whole thing with Be Be and Ce Ce Winans being so called friends with Whitney is fake. Be Be has said in an interview that Whitney was wild. I sense that he didn’t care much for her. At any rate, Whitney had no real friends and no one really Loved her. I will stand on that.

@tow94 they certainly did have a great relationship. Share with me that interview, because every interview I've seen both Be Be and Ce Ce deemed Whitney their sister. I mean she literally chose to tour with them when she should have been promoting her own album. Whitney always had her own mind. She had few friends, but they were there, Kim Burrell being one. I see your point about Bobbi Kris. Don't really know about the legalities of that, so I am going to not speak from assumption, but that is interesting.

@@ebouhoward8287 I will search for the interview and share it with you. From what I see more clearly now, Whitney always showed up for them, including coming off tour to their brother’s wedding. She did perform with them because she loved their music so much. As it appears, Whitney was never invited, she always invited herself. Ce Ce mentioned a few times in separate interviews, “I would look up and Whitney would be there”. To me, that’s uninvited and shocked that she really showed up.
