The way the conductor waits for her vocal cue at 1:46 to 2:00 is just pure brilliance, mastery and total command of the stage. There can never be anyone. This lady is the musical gift of the gods and heavens to this world.

There's a lot of other singers and divas out there who were also brilliant and superb...but when Whitney Houston sing and open her mouth she made them mute and listen to her till the end. there is something in her voice that will hypnotized you that some other singers luck off...her's is so magical that will hunt you from the inner soul just by listening to her voice, and once you started listening you will crave for more.

Whitney takes it to a superhuman level no other vocalist would dare. She unleashes the FULL WEIGHT of her powers in this performance. You get a little bit of broadway, a bit of gospel and a dash of operatic grandeur (male tenor and female opera) all in one performance with NO BACKGROUND singers; just her otherworldly voice and her incredible band. She really gave her all in this performance. So much that you can here the raspiness in her voice towards the end of the song. She pushed herself to her limits in this performance and I love that. Thats why she's my idol.

The link below is the scariest, most intense, exhausting and stunningly brilliant live performance Whitney has ever done (during her first headlining world tour in 1986 at the tender of 22) It's her cover of The Dreamgirls (a broadway show from 1982) song I AM CHANGING, sung originally by Jennifer Holiday. The original song length (sung by Jennifer Holiday) length clocks in under 4 mins but Whitney decided to make her LIVE COVER VERSION over 10 minutes long. Do not use your phone speakers for this. It is an experience that requires headphones or blu-tooth at full volume. First link is the London version. 2nd link is the California version, both from the same tour. I'd love to hear your reaction. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bsl3ptaatKfbXYk.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fNyHl9Ga0tfLlXU.html
