MrSoulshock44 She still had it in 1996. It was the *very* start of her decline. You could hear it in her Brunei concert in 1996. I have no clue why people say she was declining prior to 96. By 2000, her voice had taken a huge toll from what it used to be, but she could still sing. The only problem was she didn't have the stamina as before or hardly the same breath support. Though, she was still perfect in pitch and execution. Sadly, I think 2003 was the last year she had *good* voice. The subsequent years are a steady decline up until her untimely death 😞

Definitely. Her 1998 Tour was still magnificent. People just expected the same range. She was always able to sing, the difference was breath support (as someone noted) and her upper range. I believe that came from a lack of practice in the later years, as well as smoking.

If you think about the amount of shows she did in her career, especially per year from her prime years… you have to consider how her vocal chords are basically made of steel. She never really lip synced either. And she has substance abuse during those years. She simply was superhuman

Her prime for me is from 1988 to 1995 (before, her tone was already excepetional but a little squeaky for my ears)
