I am a veteran teacher with over 15 years' experience, and I have to agree with others who already mentioned it--you have amazing instructional skills! The way you explain the reasoning behind each choice (size of the brush, depth of color, direction and reach of the blending movements) is masterful. I'm also impressed by the way you compare the next brush and color to the previous one, constantly building up your audience's knowledge and confidence by comparing to what's already known to the new information and task at hand. Well done! I just discovered you a couple hours ago, so I don't know if you teach...but if you don't, you should consider opportunities in which you can educate and train others. You seem to have a great intuition for it!

This is literally the nicest thing I have ever heard/read about myself. Thank you SO SO MUCH. I am not a professional teacher but I really love doing it...which is what prompted me to start a channel. I'm happy you felt encouraged and empowered by my comment! Teach! I have a feeling you'd find it very rewarding! I watched the video again a few minutes ago, and if I may make a tiny suggestion, a very helpful thing would be to show all the brushes side by side (and the eye shadows) before you start applying makeup. That way anyone who is attempting to follow along could do so more easily. You wouldn't need to do that for every video, just the ones that are very "instructional" and geared to learning the basics. Thank you Whitney, your teaching technique is fantastic: tell them what you're going to tell them, tell them, and then tell them what you told them. It's how I was taught to create complex PowerPoint presentations. I had watched your original eyeshadow brush video before, but did watch it again and felt all the dots were connected in my head. Super helpful and informative. Bravo!

sweet, thx for the tips. I am 50 with mono/hooded eyes and I have for all these yrs been applying my shadow wrong. I have all the shadows and tools and would always be disappointed at my eye look. Finally, I'm a kid in a candy store!

You are super helpful, I really like this series on your channel. I feel like I have so much makeup but never use it because whenever I try to do something it doesn't end up how I want it to. So then I end up doing the same thing all the time. I feel like I'm learning a lot so I can venture out and try new looks!!

awesome tutorial. super useful. i really like how you explained everything step by step, in such a technical and professional way, while giving the reasonings for why you do a step a certain way, or use a brush for a certain color. explaining things that way makes the process a lot easier to remember and apply to other looks because i understand what i am doing and why. great video. you're a total pro and it shows.

Oh wow, I've been looking for something like this and didn't even realize it! I have similar eyes ...hooded with lots of space betwen the crease/brow but not much lid space. The technique you used would totally allow me to incorporate shimmers which I've practically given up on due to my hooded eyes/little lids ....and the dreaded transferring way above my crease despite any primer/glue I've ever tried. I appreciate how you included some actual real time blending, so many speed this up ...i can't tell you the amount of people I see/know who really don't grasp blending ....lol

Hi i wanted to share with you; I daw your brushes video and a few others and that you are right! sense i am a beginner to eyeshadow i only got the 4 brushes you talked about in that video then i got my 3 eyeshadows to play and practice . I was so amazed on how well i did with all the tools you suggested and my colors lightes to darkest and for the first time i had my eyeshadow looking nice . know i know if i practice i can achieve a good eyeshadow look. thanks again for all your time.
