By feats Usman is a valid contender for best, simply because of how dominant he was for a while. I would agree that GSP has demonstrated both greater longevity/consistency, and a wider palette than Usman has. Usman basically used his insane jab to bully people, until he met a more skilled fighter, while GSP constantly evolved. But yeah. Usman has to be given credit.

Rogan has a bit of a history of underestimating GSP and his career. He once was talking about GSP's championship reign and said something along the lines of "if a guy like Jorge Masvidal was in the division at that time he could have given GSP some trouble, because he never fought someone like that". Essentially thinking GSP and Jorge are on comparable levels and also flat-out ignoring that Jorge Masvidal and GSP were in the UFC at the same time. Don't think Joe is biased, btw. But sometimes he just rambles and some really dumb shit comes out

GSP is so far ahead of Usman as the welterweight goat. Four more title defenses against far tougher opponents and he didn't constantly rematch who he just fought plus GSP retired at 32 as the ww goat. I don't think people really understand how far behind GSP Usman is. Honestly just shows Rogan is a far more casual fan than he use to be

lol really? Whittaker is like 5,11 minimum without shoes, and has a walk around weight of 215-220lbs. He was 207.6lbs officially in cage against Costa. Like yea, he started at welterweight, but he also started fighting professionally when he was 18 years old, and by the time he was early 20s he said he had to virtually kill himself to make that weight. Rob is by no means a small middleweight, if anything it’s the perfect division for him.

It's amazing how the recency bias has so many people coming out and saying Usman was the Welterweight GOAT and not GSP. Their records are incomparable, GSP was simply the better welterweight champion. There is no statistical or imperical evidence to suggest otherwise. If anything, the argument should be between who is the second best Welterweight of all time, Usman vs Hughes, because their records are far more comparable.
