It doesn't mean being perfect but placing your trust in Jesus who is perfect. What is below may seem obvious, but I hope it helps. We have all done wrong things that separate us from God and earn death for us. But Jesus, who is God in the flesh, took the death our sins earned on the cross so that we could escape the punishment our wrong deeds deserve. Jesus also rose from the dead to defeat death for us and bring us near to God. So what must you do? The Bible says, if you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is God," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). You must believe. Here is a larger explanation of what it means to put your trust, or belief, in Jesus from our friends at the Gospel Coalition: "How can we be saved? Only by faith in Jesus Christ and in his substitutionary atoning death on the cross; so even though we are guilty of having disobeyed God and are still inclined to all evil, nevertheless, God, without any merit of our own but only by pure grace, imputes to us the perfect righteousness of Christ when we repent and believe in him." lupe cantu you’re confused because God and Jesus are actually part of one God. They’re separate in a way but they’re also the same. It’s like a bath tub. For a bathtub to you have three parts: the faucet, the bowl, and the drain. They’re all different parts but they make up the same machine. Jesus speaks about it in the Bible ““Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬ He says that he and the father are one. Yes the father sent him, but they’re also a part of each other because they’re connected which is why the video says God became like us because Jesus is God. The name we use is the holy trinity. God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is also a part of God and a part of Jesus. Jesus sent him to us as an instructor and a comforter. “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14:16-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬ He says it himself “I” will come to you. I know it can be a bit confusing, but I hope this helps. The holy trinity is one of those things that is hard to understand, and it doesn’t help that we’re all reading a translated version from the original Greek text. Some of the writings message doesn’t come across as well because of language barriers. It’s why we have to ask God/the spirit for an interpretation from him.
