Why yes my paw is in fact backwards I had no idea

To kinda relate the Japanese way of looking at fursuits/characters, a friend of mine explained it this way. In America if your grandpa dresses up as Santa, you don't address him as Grandpa, but Santa because that is the character he is portraying. And in fact it's considered wrong or rude to call someone portraying Santa by their real name or relation to you, because it breaks the illusion and fun for those around you.

Hi, I am Toothpick the warthog with crow wings. And I am from Hong Kong. I don't have a kemono fursuit like other Asians/Chinese, but a Western practical one. I simply enjoy cosplay and making OCs that's the reason I joined the furry fandom. We do have furry cons in Taiwan, but it's like 30 degrees rn in Asia so we don't wear them often. And Chinese furries are most likely to be brilliant K-pop dancers or dancers in general. (Not me tho) There's a huge furry K-pop influencer in the Chinese community, his name is Gintan. And his fursona was a skin of a popular game, China's vision of pupg. ( It's Kind of sad that the furry culture doesn't really exist in HK... It's extremely rare to see a furry in the street. )

Kemono fursuits are so adorable! With their big eyes and smol snoot, you can’t help but love how they look. And on a side note, I have now learned a little more about Japan and learned a little more Japanese, so thanks for that! And as always, great video! Much love!

4:35 I get that concept. I only have one fursona... but I have many characters. The character is not me. I don't own a fursuit of my fursona... but I do have costumes of my characters. While I do want one... I'm more likely to make another character and dress up as them. :3

The idea of a Kemono being considered like, a different member of the family though, that's interesting, it's something I've never heard about. Interesting! There's a KZfaq channel called はやぱん (Hayapan - @BleadFilms - yes, that is supposed to be 'Bread Films', he has it correct on his videos) that regularly does videos for JMoF and furmeets around Japan, and most of the suits attending are some variation of Kemono suit. Hayapan himself is rarely in his own videos, from what I can tell though. Still well worth a watch! Interestingly, Nightzy also covered a Kemono recently on his channel, a fellow called Gintan, who is based in China, he seems to be fairly famous enough over there (to the point where he collabs with K-pop artists, and his fursuit is/was obtainable in China's version of PUBG. Nightzy's own V-Tuber avatar appears to be in this art style too (although Nightzy's suit is a more western style). There's even a business over there for RENTING Furry characters, including fursuits. The company, K-Line, owns all the characters, and you have to follow strict guidelines to be able to use them. You *can* buy them, but they are absurdly expensive. They got into a lot of trouble recently for their guidelines strictness, yet rather vague details that would allow them to screw their customers. Their guidelines were sometimes not even explained properly in other languages, so some international customers thought they were getting the character outright.

Because my art style is heavily influenced by manga/anime, I’m horribly picky with fursuit head artstyle, so to see Kemono fur heads being the closest shot to being close to my style, it makes me always wish to have one of my own. Sadly expensive from what I’ve seen, but I hold out hope to get one someday.

That is a very interesting and educational video Stormi. And very entertaining to watch. Awesome work. As I been introduced into Kemono through Sherbet. And these are so adorable. I thought Kimono are more of a style of suit that is inspired through the anime and manga art style. But there are more to it. And that is a very fascinating video especially to learn about other cultures especially of Nipon (Japan). And I see there are Kimono characters in Tokusatsu as Doggie Kruger from both Power Rangers: SPD and Dekaranger must be an example of a Kimono despite the realistic versions of both variants.

I don't understand the difference in names. In America you would call a furry by their fursona name and it appear to be the same in japan. So, why does it matter?

I thought we were all going by Kemono rules? To be fair I am not American.

The reason why most of the people who replied to your tweet for kemono fursuits are from China or Taiwan is three-fold: 1- Japanese people are a lot less fluent in English, because Japanese and English are so different it's extremely hard for them to learn English (and vice-versa), while Chinese and English have similar grammar and syntax. 2- Chinese internet is heavily censored by communist party, which makes many chinese use VPN and be more present in English networks where there is less censorship. 3- And of course chinese population is much bigger than Japanese.
