I've noticed these days there are certain KZfaqrs who will react to kpop just for views, like they couldn't give a shit about the music, the members, etc, i think these guys are differently one of those people. Its easy to tell since they give lackluster reactions to them and didn't even pause to read the guide. i've watched a few videos on this channel and yup they are not interested. but I know they are going to keep reacting to it since their stray kids video has the most views. I think they need to pack it up for their own good cause kpop stans aren't gonna fuck with their uninterested behaviors and they're just gonna keep getting flamed in the comments. These guys aren't the only reactors I have seen do this, its almost predictable how a youtube channel will start by reacting to things they want to react to and then notice their not getting any views from it so they start doing kpop reactions like it's their last resort😂and then their whole channel ends up being about kpop and their feigned interest in it. Us fans gotta start noticing these things so that we don't end up supporting people like this. No hate to them tho. To your comment about men being different in the west insinuating that men in the west are more manly. I’m in the west, have you looked at the “men” lately? Changbin the one you totally missed because you talked throughout his section could probably beat both of you at arm wrestling but at the same time is not afraid to act cute because he is very secure with his masculinity, in fact they all are which comes through whether they’re wearing makeup or not. BTW, everyone you see on tv even BBC wears makeup. These men don’t stop working out, they are physically fit. Did you know that 3 of the Stray Kids have black belts in Taekwondo? One of them is second degree black belt. Shed away some of that arrogance and look beyond your current environment. Sorry for being a little harsh when I know how hard it is for young men these days in the west but I needed to say this because in the end I have hope for the younger male generation.

theres a thing called 'Bias' which means favourite member of the group. every STAY has a bias in the group, some stays are OT8s which means they like them all equally. The popular members are Felix, Hyunjin and Bangchan but you hear stays saying we like them all because its rlly hard to choose between them, their all talented and have their own uniqueness. Interviews show their true humour and personalities. The reason their very touchy is because its common in Korea and their like brothers, they've been together since 2017 so thats 6 years. And its the main reason they are so loved by their fans, their not shy or afraid to show their true selves and it shows how caring they are to each other and that's why they normalize this behaviour, to show how thankful they are to have eachother. They've left their hometowns and families and have been living together in dorms since their training.

We need to stop comparing with groups. It's really disrespectful. You have to respect all kpop groups. All different groups. They are all a different style of music .

Nonetheless, it's really important to remember to respect every member, group or artist, because at the end of the day we're all here for the music.

I've only been into Kpop for just over a year, but I don't think "best" is used unless you're starting a fight. If you're a fan of a group you normally have a favorite (bias), but when you get to know the group you love them all. Felix drew me in, so he's my forever favorite, but there isn't a "best" in the group. I also wouldn't start comparing groups to each other. BTS is a 3rd gen group, so they shouldn't be compared. Toxic fans will compare and go against each other, which is dumb because the groups themselves get along and respect each other. All that to say, if you do a BTS vs Stray Kids video I probably wont watch it. 😅 But I enjoy your honest reactions. Kpop is such a different beast from our genres in the west. Sometimes it's hard for people to accept them because of the makeup, clothing, and insane work ethic. But thank you for setting that aside and appreciating the boys and their music. One thing about Stray kids is that they are very open about their feelings, and especially Bang Chan. Bang Chan talks a lot about his feelings and his experience and struggles with his debut and training. During his trainee years he did suffer from both depression and suicidal thoughts. Thankfully he overcame his thoughts and is here today. Now he tells his stories through his music. For example their Japanese song social path is pretty much about Bang Chans story. South Korea has a very high suicidal rate and struggles with mental health and physical health in the K-pop industry is very common. This can be many reasons for, such as constant hate and overworking. The K-pop industry have lost many idols due to suicide and physical health issues. Which is very sad. Please don’t ridicule Bang Chan or any other K-pop idol for talking about their feelings since it’s a very important topic. 🙏

Stray Kids is extremely different from BTS. They're nothing alike, Stray kids have a very different type of music style. 1) they write, produce and compose 100% of their songs themselves 2) stray kids have a dark concept (rock, hiphop, electronic etc) 3) Listening to a stray kids and bts songs, you'll clearly see the difference yourself 4) stray kids was formed recently in 2018 while BTS was formed in 2013

In Korea the terms Main, Lead, and Sub are assigned at debute and refer to the members primary role in the group. For example, the main vocal will get the most lines and usually the most difficult notes. The lead singer will be secondary to the main and the sub will just support or do background vocals. Its the same setup for the rappers and dancers. When the guides say that more than one member is a lead, rapper, dancer etc. It just refers to the way their implemented in the group's music/performance. Straykids doesn't actually adhere to those roles as a group because its members are known for being all rounders. The guide was just giving you their official roles that were assigned by JYP when Sraykids were formed.

I'm very confused because you said it was a "reaction", more like "watching" Stray Kids for the first time.

It’s a common thing within the STAY community, that all 8 members are the favorite ☺️ I believe that that is because not only are they all insanely, multi talented, but also have each of them have such lovable personalities (all unique in their own way but all lovable and endearing). For those reasons I believe it’s really hard for many STAYS to claim a favorite. And even for those who do have one, many will still view the other members as almost tie with their bias. STRAY KIDS are really like a loving family to each other, so trying to separate one from the others just makes the entire group feel incomplete. There is nothing wrong with have a bias. I do myself (Bang Chan). But to me (and so many others) if my bias is a 20/10 the rest of the members are a 19/10 It’s just the was it is😊 I would recommend reacting to some of their other content (not their music) to be able to really appreciate and understand why people are so obsessed with their beyond just their musical abilities. Truly the most wholesome, hilarious and chaotic yet charming group of friends I have ever come across!

I feel like you guys might need to be more conscious of the culture of kpop to stop getting into trouble in the comments. I appreciate you trying a guide and trying to understand when it's really new and different. With kpop it's not just being Korean music that makes it different but the way people enjoy it and are fans is quite different from a lot of other music. Kpop groups aren't just bands who release music, they're held to a very high standard and essentially trained to be professional celebrities, they make music, they perform, they go on entertainment shows and make youtube shows and content. Their behaviour is expected to be role model material and artists can get in scandals for something like smoking or even dating (sometimes risking their entire career). They often have to work very hard for many years before they start actually earning decent money, they will train for years and live with their group (Stray Kids only recently moved into new places where they got their own rooms, they were literally in bunk beds sharing one flat for years). To do this job kpop artists have to be very dedicated, and fans often become very protective of them- since they essentially commit themselves fully to trying to make art their fans will love. You cannot debut in kpop without being very hardworking and talented- and the kpop world is extremely competitive. This is why there isn't really a 'best' of any group. Kpop groups need to be a team of diverse talents, often with roles (like 'main rapper' or 'main dancer') which describe what performance aspect that person is in control of for the group. People have their favourites called 'biases' who they are more drawn to, but it's very subjective, and to compare or call someone 'the best' is seen as very disrespectful since the talent level is so high it's really just personal preference. Comparing groups is similar- it only ends badly, because each fandom will read it as disrespect and they will come out fighting about it. You also need to understand that it's taken a while for kpop to get decent respect from the global- but especially Western music industry. So for kpop fans respect is a huge issue. Fandoms have also been belittled in the past and stereotyped as mostly teenage girls who only care about pretty people (and of course the mainstream likes to disrespect teen girls and dismiss anything they like as rubbish), when actually music journalists and the music industry are finally waking up to the fact that South Korea is pioneering new sounds and genres and gaining wide ranging and lasting listeners across the world. Kpop cares about performance and like the punk and glam rock era they experiment with looks and styles, and everyone wears make up because it makes people look good. There is also a big focus on relationships between people, and physical closeness is much more common and comfortable. What you read as intimidating will also be very based on your experience, but if you become more familiar with them as people you will understand why Changbin reads as more intimidating because his manner, physicality, and energy stands out. It's actually something he became conscious of and tried to control as he grew older so he didn't make others upset when he was angry etc.. I know you're coming from a completely foreign environment and a lot of the stuff you say is coming from genuine ignorance, but if you want to keep making content about kpop you probably need to keep in mind that for a kpop fan this is like you're talking about their close friend or family and the jokes might not land as very funny or light-hearted. I hope you keep exploring the kpop world- maybe try some of the non-music content to better understand everything involved in kpop (Stray Kids and other groups have some docuseries, variety shows, behind the scenes etc. on their channel). It's okay to just relax and enjoy stuff, you don't have to rate it or compare it. Just listen to new music, learn about new groups and see if you like it or not. Kpop was very new to me too when I found Stray Kids, but it's come to be such a positive experience and taught me so many things. I hope you're able to find your path with it.

Also… when talking about the amount of physical affection in this guide video… you’re thinking of it like someone you work with. Think of them as brothers. Because that’s basically what they are. Family. You would definitely go pounce your little brother or be okay with their head falling over to your shoulder while on an exhausting schedule. They tease each other constantly. Constantly… They get along, they argue, they love each other. They have lived together in dorms for years. Also… Some Stray Kids (SKZ) fans (called Stay) do have favorites (called their bias) or more than one (a bias and a bias wrecker) or they stan (favor) the whole group (OT8). Some even prefer their debut size of 9 members (one left in 2019). And it’s ALL okay!

I will never stop admiring Seungmin and this applies to absolutely everything, both his personality and his talent. Seungmin's vocals are just something unthinkable apart from the fact that he perfectly or rather skillfully owns his voice with each new album, his level of professionalism reaches new heights each time his vocals amaze more and more with their power, range and variety. But most importantly, he never forgets about feelings and emotions, showing us all his sincerity. I'm looking forward to his solo album more than anything in the future.

Genuinely all of them could be considered one of the better vocalists, dancers or rapper if they were put in another group. Seungmin recently covered one of Han’s raps and absolutely killed it. And that’s only one example. All of them are pretty well-rounded, Han being the most since he excels in every area of an idol. That’s mainly the reason why fans love them all equally, because they don’t know WHO to keep looking at. All of them catches ur attention so u can’t exactly keep ur eye since every era, a different person seems to shine. Also btw, this guide didn’t say it, and I feel like many stays might not have said it, but they used to have a 9th member, Woojin, who is now a soloist. Both him and SKZ have separate careers now, and so Stays don’t talk about them as a 9 to respect them. Im just saying since if you watch music vids from 2018-2019, Woojin will be there so just a heads up, in case u get confused.

In Asian culture men are more physically affectionate. Its just a cultural thing. Western culture has the opposite extreme so its very different.

The reason you see such a diversity in "favorites", or our bias, is because even if one or two members have caught our heart a little more/we relate to more , we pretty much strive as a fandom to see what makes each member unique/special and celebrate them for being the best version of themselves they can be. Now this is not a participation trophy kinda thing. These men work very hard, every day, in all aspects of their craft (vocals, dance, production, etc). And they've been working hard even before they debuted 6+ years ago. Another reason is that all the members care deeply and admire the other members themselves. Bang Chan chose the team, but they've all pushed hard together to get where they are. We joke around all the time that Skz will always love each other more than Stay ever could, and we love them for that. Also, because they have very physically taxing jobs due to intense choreo and 3 hr long concerts while singing live, the boys are all pretty fit and partake in some form of exercise. Changbin is the one with the more noticeable muscle mass (if you look again, that man's biceps are bigger than his head now). Anyway, my biases are Bang Chan and Changbin 😊

i really like ur reactions but i believe it's kinda disrespectful(?) i guess, towards the group to really choose the "best" one, just because an individual in a group is given more opportunities to show their talent doesn't mean they actually are more talented. Like i used to be a huge one direction fan and yeah harry was definitely the most popular one but how did that end up for the group? I love kpop for the fact that kpop fans (mostly) know that it's really unnecessary to compare the idols especially because of the fact that they all actually work EXTREMELY hard for absolutely everything. (Personally l would say Changbin and Chan are also ace) . Other than that , everyone has their own strengths. I already talked about 3racha . Theres the lines and subunits the ones you learned abt in the vid (3racha, danceracha, vocalracha) are based on the members "specialities" like producing for 3racha. And the lines (rap line and vocal line) are what the members mostly do in songs, members still change between this but its what they do overall. The rap line has: Changbin, Han, Felix and Hyunjins and the vocal line: Seungmin, I.N, Bangchan and Lee know Theres also a difference between 3racha as a trio and subunit. 3racha the trio was a predebut rap group and 3racha as a subunit after debuting is a producing unit. Obviously despite these lines and units the members are very versatile with their talents, but this is overall + Skz don't use the "main rapper, lead vocalist" positions, they're just known as rapper, vocalists and dancers. More than one member can be a rapper In korean culture alot of people are just really affectionate towards eachother regardless of gender There isn't a "best" members but there's definitely ones that draw most attention to the group and are most biased, I would say those are felix and hyunjin. There's also members that ppl don't pay as much attention to like seungmin, i.n and changbin sadly. But these members obv have loads of fans anyway. Y'all need to stop comparing other groups with Stray Kids. I know y'all aren't used to the K-pop fandom still, but it creates huge fanwars. Petty teenagers on the other side of the screen think it's funny to send d**th thre@ts to the idols. It's scary cause antis can go to extreme lengths. There have been cases of a l@ser being pointed at an idol like Felix too (this particular case with Felix isn't specifically related to fanwars but it's about antis and the lengths they can go to). That's why it's best to avoid. BTS are indeed extremely successful and I fully support, but they have their own unique charm about them and so does Stray Kids. Let's just keep it that way. Also yes, most STAYS try to keep it balanced by loving all 8 members equally cause they don't want more antis to emerge from within the fandom. There are many solo stans unfortunately, especially for Hyunjin and Felix. Remember how I told you that incident with Felix? That's because some idiot who was only a Hyunjin stan hated on the other members and the target incidentally became Felix because of the so-called Hyunjin and Felix ships.

Hi, thanks for reacting to Stray Kids Some stuff you guys said was a little problematic such as comparing SKZ to BTS, comparing members, and stuff. I don’t need to like, lecture of anything cause everyone else in the comments is already doing it, but what I will say is affection between males is normalized in Korea (which is right), I think 2 males can be affectionate with eachother without being romanticized, rightfully. to answer your question, unlike a lot of other people in the comments (no offense, they have a point), my favorite member out of stray kids would be Lee Know because of his unique personality, his amazing dance skills and distinguishible voice. His stage precense is so good and even though he might seem a bit mean sometimes, he has the sweetest personality. Although i have a very hard time choosing my fave (I.N, Felix, and Han are my bias-wreckers) i still always seem to find my way to the 4D personality bunny (Leeknow). also, you can't really say who is "best" since there are a lot of crazy fans who will basically hunt you down, but there is something called a "bias" which basically is your fave and "bias-wrecker" who is one or a few of the members that might "challenge" for the bias-spot.

And my love hate relationship with your channel continues……BUT just as you challenge your biases and stereotypes - and I take my hat off to you for doing that (this world would be a better place if we all did that more often!) - I challenge mine and stay willing to give you a go. The industry is huge and generates its own good and bad sides because, imperfect humans. To answer your question, I am OT8 and have 8 bias wreckers all the time. SKZ wouldn’t be who they are without the 8. I, not an army (BTS), just casual listener, but even though they’ve all released lots of successful solo work this past year, you can see how chomping they are at the bit for 2025 when they can return from military service as the seven member group. These groups from such strong bonds that even if there is/was jealousy, they work it out because the sum is even more powerful that the parts. Also, you might be surprised that the fandoms of many K-pop groups especially the more famous/popular few are very diverse. You got teen and even pre-teen kids, to grandparents and all ranges in between. There’s a lot to the movement/industry/phenomenon when you scratch the surface.

I wouldn’t do a skz vs bts vid bc u have no idea what fan wars that will start😭 also with the favorite member thing I think hyunjin and Felix are the most popular but most people like them all equally and in K-pop groups there’s not really a member who stands out and is the best bc they all excel in different areas also the physical affection is very common in Korea and if ur going to keeping reacting to K-pop just be aware of that bc this vid isn’t even the half of it

The reason everyone is upset about the comparisons is not only because of the difference in music style. But BTS' ages are 30-25, they debuted well before Stray Kids so of course they'll be more popular. Not to mention, many kpop fans are fans of many, many groups and therefore hate when they are compared or people try to start fan wars. There are 4 main entertainment companies, Jyp is only one of them. Bts is under a different label so that is why they never collaborate. Bts is in the 3rd gen, Stray Kids is in the 4th. There are plenty of other guy groups as well such as: Txt, enhypen, exo, seventeen, the rose, ateez, boynextdoor, btob, and so on. If you want to compare groups, at least look up their companies first and choose ones from the same ones. The reason for this is because the companies tend to have different baseline styles in general. Not always.

BTS and Stray Kids are no comparable - their music style (production and sound) are very different, attracting very different audiences. And Stay Kids is the best selling group this year sooo you are listening to the best :)

Most kpop groups are designed to be entirely made up of "Harry Stiles." The training process for idols is designed to only allow the best of the best to debuted. It can be very cut-throat. So it's honestly a very true statement to say every member is the best. Because the groups are made of the very best. But we all (for the most part) have "favorites" or a bias in groups. Which, I feel, reflects on your personal tastes and likes more than the talent vs lack of talent between members (i.e. you pay closer attention to dancing versus singing, for example). For Stray Kids my bias is Lee Know!

They have had to live with each other and bond for years so makes sense that they are more comfortable with each other than most might be. Not only that, the first i think 5 years (maybe 3) they aren't allowed to date. So make sense that the only outlet of affection would be each other. Personally think its sweet that they are comfortable enough to be that way with each other and wish it was more "accepted". They are each others family

For me personally, Felix and Seungmin were the two members I was most curious about that drew me into Stray Kids music. I say Seungmin is my "bias" when asked, but the more you get familiar with the group, that title disappears, and you just love all of them equally. Objectively speaking, all 8 of them are very talented in all elements be it singing, rapping, dancing etc. They've demonstrated they can switch positions in songs and still be elite in what they do. With time, most tend not to have a real favourite - they are all awesome :)
