@@coralchan1660 probably because that he was disgusted with the gods. because in (spoiler for last book) hua cheng was the little ghosts that xie lian encountered after his downfall. he witnessed what happened to him and what the 33 other heavenly officials do to him. additionally, he hates/would hate almost everyone in the heavenly court. i doubt he'd put up with that, especially when they start insulting and using XL as a bad example. but then if he were able to achieve supreme, he could become a lot stronger, rule over a lot more land, have more (ghost??) believers etc.

@@ravenduarte5325 but also he lived his whole life with the "dianxia is my only god and im his faithful believer", he never wanted to be anything but that. godhood would put him on the same level as xie lian when he likes being below him and just wants to admire his prince in peace.

Anyway, Jun Wu is not a good man as we always thought, the affection he has for Dianxia is not love, but more of an obsession. But the real story behind that is really really long
