So what we're doing today is making a nice witches stew, don't believe the old wives tales of water making witches melt that was a rumor started by St. Ignatius of Loyola, besides we aren't using water in this stew, we're using rum. They shouldnt have put both pieces of bread on there at the same time, you lose time for the cheese to melt. I personally throw my butter in, get both pieces in just to soak up, then take one out and put the cheese on and top, flip and then put a pan lid on so the steam can melt the cheese. avoids burning the bread.

Dry toast (no butter) the insides of the grilled cheese first. Then drop your butter in your pan, place you bread that you've toasted the inside of, and put your cheese on it. DON'T PUT THE OTHER BREAD ON YET. Cover with a lid. This creates a small oven allowing your cheese to melt faster. Keeping it open-faced will help the melting. Put your schmear on your top bread on top of the cheese, place on top of the cheese, pull off the heat, butter in pan, toast the other side COVERED.

When whipping the heavy cream, it separates the solids and the liquids. The pigment, beta-carotene, then shows as there is no more liquid diluting it.

Not sure if you guys read the comments but.... Two pro poor guy tips for grilled cheese. Light salt when the second side is done it obsorbs the salt right away. Secondly to preserve crisp cut it in half / two triangls RIGHT AWAY and plate on the sides/ crust. This stops the bottom side from steaming and both are crispy crunchy. Shout out if you try it/ add it in a future episode please :) Love the show here in Canada.

Pretty funny how they were making the exact mistake Josh was yelling at Gordon about. Too thick bread makes the cheese not melt before everything else burns

@@pikekekeUnless you toast both sides which gets the bread hot before adding the cheese. The bigger mistake was using too much cheese. You can fix the whole thing by warming the cheese on the grill (griddle in this case, I think) for a 1/2 second before adding it to the bread (which should already be on the griddle and toasted on the top side where the cheese is added). Edit to add: and you can cover it to let it steam for a couple seconds if the cheese isn't melted yet, but your bread needs to be pretty firm for that, or you'll just have a soppy grilled cheese.

@@It-b-Blairthats not true at all. Rye is not a type of bourbon. Theres ryed bourbon, which refers to rye as the primary secondary grain in the mashbill, but rye whiskey and bourbon whiskey are totally different things, and he used rye whiskey.

That josh and Trevor hug was phenomenal and rare it’s incredible they did magnificent in this. I felt the emotion from it but it’s awesome when they team up together our two fearless leaders. 22:49. My heart is full of love and and joy

I was thinking till the end that Josh and Trevor will win because of the unbelievably good the whole concept is and then the bread just forgets what it is. I'm pretty sure the bread in itself might taste a lot better but then the structural integrity of a bread is just as important as its flavour.

Jack links does a Beef Jerky chew that Im sure is mostly just the "dust" from cutting up their jerky into small chunks. Comes in a little container like tobacco chew even.

Jordan seems to always be biased and I knew as soon as she was the judge the women would win. The guy's sandwich obviously tasted better but she said the girls won because the giys' sandwich fell apart a tiny bit? Come on.

it turns yellow because the natural color of milkfat is yellow, you just can't see it when it's in the emulsion with the rest of the milk.
