I'd be delighted if VAR was abolished, I've been opposed to technology in football (even before it was forced upon us) for three reasons, even the ball out of play technology is useless as it only applies to the goal line and not the end line and that cost us twice this season, Firstly, football rules are written in a way that allows a large amount of interpretation to the referee, it is not a game where a black and white technological solution can be applied easily, even offside should be based on the common sense opinion if the attacking side _is seeking to gain an advantage._ Secondly football is a fluid game where stoppages are at a minimum, even when the ball is out of play the clock still runs, and added time is again at the discretion of the referee, it is not a stop/start game like tennis where there are regular breaks in play, so the constant lengthy checks have sucked all the joy and spontaneity out of the game. Thirdly the scope for corruption and incompetence is widened by involving a larger group of individuals, if a mistake is made the official in charge is responsible not a blame ducking exercise of "miscommunication" and of course the old favourite faulty technology.

VAR is fine with semi automatic offside, goal line and pitch out lines technology. It's just nonsense with "VAR can't rereferee the decisions". If VAR sees definately that referee is wrong, he needs to overturn decision, if it's a doubt, just let referee come to a screen to check it. VAR is not supposed to charge bad pitch referee decision, but only help get situations correct. If main referee thinks it's not a foul after watching on a screen , it's not VAR problem. It's referee's problem. PGMOL need as well to stand by firmly on rules to be put consistantly, not changing rules and interpretations over the season. We saw rules being brought in situations at the begining of the season one way and in another way later through a season. Fans and clubs need comunication, transparancy as well. If decisions were wrong, bring on a day after and call out themselves.
