Ed Balls shares his lived and worked experience working in social care and the critical role it plays in all of our lives.
Who Cares? the UK's first Young People's Care Careers Conference, at the Royal College of General Practitioners, was a phenomenal event. Shining a light on the variety of career options that social care offers.
"We attended the care conference today; what an amazing event! The students thoroughly enjoyed it, as did we. They gained such an invaluable insight into the world of social care. The testimonies we heard were really inspirational."
Anita Goyal MBE and Avnish Goyal CBE - Chair of Care England - were the vision behind this event, with its aim to spread awareness and interest in this vibrant sector.
We also heard from Aneurin Brown on his journey from entry to MD at Hallmark Care Homes.
Deborah Sturdy CBE - Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care - from the Department of Health and Social Care, spoke about her incredible 40-year career in the sector.
Liz Kendall MP, Shadow Minister for Social Care, reinforced how important it is that we make social care as important to us all as the NHS is.
Sarah, Charlie, Chelsea and Courtney talked us through their personal pathways into care, and the steps they are taking now as they progress in the sector - they were honest and inspiring.
UpFront theatre Company gave us a real insight into what is takes and what it means to be a good carer.
And Jermaine Harris, well he quite literally had us all on our feet energised to take steps into an industry that will impact all of our lives at some point, and building a career within it.
