I want to love the zfc but it needs to have a physical aperture ring on the lens. I hate using tiny command dials to adjust it. The Fuji lenses have the clicky physical aperture ring which really sell the retro experience

If you pair it with a Viltrox prime lens, like the 23mm f1.4, it has a aperture ring on it..

@@michelemicoliTrue, they are good lenses but they are not clickly, which is why I don't use the ring as it's too easy to move unintentionally. 😅

I think that the nikon looks good, but would have been better if it didn't have a touchscreen, as that makes it less slr-like or retro. I like the xt2 better, and also better than the xt3 or xt4 for lack of touchscreen.

coming from fuji, the zfc is beautiful. It's definitely much more accurate to film cameras, but thats where it ends. It's a pretty looking consumer camera, but the lack of controls makes it slower to use. No aperture ring, lack of function buttons, and of course the colors aren't fuji level. What bothers me the most is the lack of a hand grip. Even the xt30 line is more professional and has more controls than the zfc, while being at the same price

The lack of a hand grip is a nice thing. It pays homage to the old style. Many iconic film SLRs didn't have a grip either. The world's most famous rangefinders still don't and people love it to death paying tens of thousands. There can always be accessories to put a grip, but you can't remove a poorly designed grip.

Fuji blows Nikon out of the water easily due to how the entire ecosystem has aperture rings. However, Fuji does have a tendency to have different feeling aperture rings across their line-up. Either their QC isn't great or they change parts suppliers between each lens. Funny how there isn't a ZF yet. Just swap out the sensor and it would be a winner.

@@castlecameras I did see some sneak photo leaks but I hope those were just 3D renders. I quite like the ZFc's design and would rather they just stick to the same design, put a 3-way tilt screen and swap out the sensor for a full frame. I think retro look cameras are best without a grip, just like old film SLRs.

I have a X-T3 since 2018 so I am biased, never held the Nikon in hand, but there are several reasons why I'd pick the Fujifilm. The ergonomics of the camera is clearly better, with bumps and an actual handgrip for the left hand. The lenses are awesome as well, with aperture rings that allow one to change that setting right on the lens. Since I picked up my X-T3, I have consistently used full manual mode to take pictures, it is so easy to access aperture, ISO and shutter speed, it just clicked for me. Pardon the pun...

As an exclusive Nikon user I got - of course - the gorgeous Z fc, but it is my only camera with the Z mount, the rest are all HQ DSLR's. I fell in love the first time I saw it and I really like to use the dials. I bought it as an every day companion but I have to say, it attracts more attention in street photography than I thought it would. That's unfortunately a little downside of its otherwise beautiful design.

The Nikon Zfc retro style is more authentic, however, the Fuji X-T5 seems more practical, especially with grip and ergonomics in general. Also, the rear LCD of the Fuji is more conducive for true photography and feels more authentic, while the Nikon’s LCD is more modern like it is more video orientated… I like both, but if I had to choose one, make mine FUJI… 🤔

ZFc is retro old school and the XT5 is retro modern. Personally I like the retro modern.

Nikon could just add an aperture ring to the body itself (Just like the old Olympus OM had for the shutter) and then it wouldn't even matter if nikon lenses had aperture rings or not

I would go for the ZFC. I just love the design and dimensions of the camera. I’m actually planning to trade in my D7200 for one.

great i actually did the same ,went from d7200 to zfc .together with the grip feels pretty solid . image wise ofcourse i prefer zfc , just you cant crop a lot , unless you really nailed the photo. i have print photos that i kep only the 2 mp out of the full photo. have you bought it yet ?

I'm a Nikon fanboy, but the XT5 looks and feels etter. THE ZFC feels cheap and flimsy. I own the XT5, and my only complaint is that it scratches too easy.

@@castlecameras I would argue that Fujifilm XT3 and XT5 are better looking cameras than the Nikon ZFC and I have held the Nikon ZFC in my hands, and it wasn't a bad camera, but you pick up an XT5, and that thing is a thing of beauty it truly is a wonderful and even the X pro series and the X100V.... And I know you were finishing the video on Lukes, but even the Fujifilm cameras have a better look to them than anything Nikon can produce.
