Correction: In the anniversary section there is a typo in Rip Torn's dates. He died in 2019, not 1919. We apologize for the error and appreciate the commenters who called it to our attention.

@@hrhqueene I'm so sorry for your loss of your beloved son. That is a pain that never goes away. I lost the only man I truly ever loved suddenly in 1989. He was only 32, and we put off getting married because we thought we had all the time in the world. His beautiful, sweet mother is in her 90s now, and I know a day doesn't pass that she's not thinking about him and what he missed out on. He would have been a wonderful dad, and I've always regretted that we didn't have a baby together. I know that's selfish, as that child would have grown up without a dad, but I'd still have a part of Bert with me to love and cherish. Maybe he wouldn't have died young if he'd been a dad, but who knows.

He kind of took a back seat when Luke and Laura took over the show and Robert Scorpio became the main law figure but prior to the Luke and Laura hoopla that took over daytime Soaps he had a much better part. That small Seafood restaurant Kelly’s his family ran was and might still be a focal point hangout in the show. I had a girlfriend at age 15 who loved the show and the Luke and Laura part of the show had a good plot so that’s how I came to know the show for about 3 years at least. 🤭😎 He had that Irish look and feel and was good in everything he was in after leaving the Soap Opera. Safe Passage Joe Kelly. His co star Jackie Zemen died last year too who played Luke’s sister I think Bobbie Spencer. I caught hell from my football player teammates for knowing this stuff back in 81-84. 🤣

I wish Shelly Duvall had gotten the support she needed after reporting her breakdown from making The Shining. She endured so much in that production, perhaps should have had more support working with the director so she didnt feel she had to do everything he said to do. She was also horribly treated by that charlatan, "Dr." Phil. I'll never forgive him for his cruel, humiliating "interview" of Ms. Duvall in 2016. He took advantage of her mental illness for the sake of his ratings. He's a cold-hearted creep, and no real licensed psychiatrist/psychologist would ever subject their patients to the kind of abuse he's become known for. I have a personal experience with the "Dr. Phil Show", and a producer who was interested in having me and my mentally ill adult son appear on the show. I called it off with a BIG "Oh HELL NO!" when I found out what they wanted to do. It would have caused irreparable harm to my son, and I was stunned they would suggest such an evil stunt. Yeah, it would have been good for ratings, but absolutely horrible for my son and our family. Phil McGraw is a monster. RIP Shelley Duvall, she was a sweet, talented actress who deserved better.

Shelley Duvall was a great actress in her prime, in Popeye, 3 Women, and no one forgets The Shining. God rest her soul. She had a unique style, a character that matches the comic book hero type, or a Robert Altman genre type, but diversified herself when she starred in The Shinning.

To the Narrator: Thank you for "restraining yourself from feeling the NEED to use" that horrible, very tired cliche, "iconic." Across the KZfaq channels where they primarily profile people, it seems like icon and iconic are the only words that are "available" to use as effective descriptors. So I will mention the thesaurus in hoping this resource will get them them to think about, and hopefully find and put into their narratives, fresher, more original, more effective words to replace icon/iconic. It's time this universal trend towards "lazy writing" gets a proverbial slap in the face!

The death of Benji Gregory was so tragic, falling asleep in a car when the temperature was in the triple digits. For all of you out there, PLEASE check on vulnerable family members and friends during this extreme heat wave. Heat related deaths and injuries claim more lives then floods, hurricanes, or tornadoes.

@@jeffhodge7272it may be that the reports you read were earlier ones that didn't yet have that detail. As mentioned in the narration, Legacy doesn't report causes of death if they aren't already announced, so it's possible that at the time they were preparing the video that information wasn't yet official. What I can see from doing a search just now, some 7 hours after your comment, shows that many prominent news outlets do presently mention that tragic detail. Here in Texas, we hear every summer of automotive deaths in the blistering heat, yet they continue to occur. So terribly preventable and sad.
