Pitch was not in favour to Brazil during the match. If i'm not mistaken, it was raining during the match and Brazil attacking force was not like what they had when played against South Korea due to the weather

I think the best change this year in football is the 5 subs rule and long additional times. Not only it gives oppurtunity to rest players... but the players subbed in are not there just to finish the game... but they are giving more energy to impact/change the game in order to prove themselves to managers. So when a wholesale change made to the attacking players... we are going to see more space open at the end of the games with long added times.

Im gonna give you my secret sauce to predict football. First, many people say team spirit and tactics are the most important. Actually, its the individual, team spirit and tactics only get the best out of individuals but in the end, players are the one who makes the decision and finish the work. So, you look at the players, then see if the team environment get the best out of them, then you decide their true ability. And dont forget about magic moment that happens once every 100 times. richarlison did what he always did under brazil, disapeared through out the game, and went the defenders forgot about him, he came from nowhere to score, before disapearing again. only to show again and put the finisher and take away their drive to continue. this is the reason tite picked him, and this is the reason why only people who didnt watch him play for brazil didnt understand why tite put him above gabriel jesus and firmino. in therms of results, dude eat both of them for lunch. and it didnt even fill him halfway...

Spain looked to me to have the strongest start, however, they are still in question. this cup is up for grabs for me. I just remember Ale Moreno never giving Spain any credit and they have reached advanced stages in recent competitions. just poking fun lol!

@@markgordon4619 Well Costa Rica is the weakest team in the WC and they pretty much opened the game after the 3-0. You can't really compare that to a really good full defensive team (Serbia almost took Portugal out of the WC on eleminatories) that still lost to 2-0, almost 4-0. Only time will tell, tomorrow i'll watch Spain's game

Anyone who follows football and knows a little about both teams; will say the Germany- Japan results were not a big surprise. The Germans are bad in transition without the ball but very good with the ball going forward. With the energy of this Japan team, you just had that feeling that they would have the edge over the Germans in exploiting their defensive lines.

germany didnt lose the game because they were worse, but for the same reason argentina did. they got unlucky, and they belived they were better... when they scored, they tried to score again but not as much as they thought holding the game and slowing it down. that created the space for saudi and japan to come in and strike 2x each. by the time they realized what was going on, it was too late, and then they sunk afraid to lose the game that was already lost.
