I agree with you on Ahsha since as much as I want to love the trial decks for atmile and chronojet I feel like I'm more likely to buy the cards that are good and then budget options to filter out the rest of gears and tech atmile into my existing gancelot build

I feel like Neo Nectar got the best deck purely on the basis of being able to create what can essentially be 3 vanguard swings and 2 drives on board. Altmile is next because now RP can toolbox for days and do a lot of really good stuff with their mechanics while also plussing from having no counter left. Chronojet between the pack and the deck feels left behind a bit. The support we got for Gears in the trial deck and the booster pack feels a lot more restrictive and centered around discard, which doesn't mesh too well with anything other than standard Chronofang. Smoke Gear is an amazing support card, and Nextage is pretty alright as well, but nothing else really stands out to give Chronojet its own identity as a deck. Lost Legend got bind mechanics to let it fill a niche that Gear Chronicle has almost always had, and Chronojet is high aggression and hand manipulation that works really well, but a lot of support that could have gone to Chronojet just meanders around having specific board setup for the new trio or focusing more on discard to do stuff, which isn't really even too synergistic with Chronofang it feels. The fight pack had a better Chronojet support card than 90% of the pack we've seen.

I personally think Altmile is the strongest sound stupid but high number force 2 early game hurt like hell

Hi, I came back after playtesting the new stuff to give my imput. Playtesting with the new gear stuff from the EB, the results are...not good. Chronojet barely does anything at all. Stroboscope is too little to have an impact, smokegear is nice, but a measly plus 1 is nothing compared to what other deck can pull off, especially since you minus to stride so it's a break even at best. Apart from nextage the deck feels super vanilla, and that is a big problem. The last RRR needs to be mind blowing to save this. Also, can't believe I'm about to say this, but convincing me that Melem is not a bad card this time aroumd is gonna be difficult -it has no future support in mind as it works with w other specific cards -it's not guaranteed to even hit one of those on the top 7 -it requires a lot of space, including a grade 3 slot, for this engine in a deck that can barely fit the essentials, amd that with order cards will be even harder to manage Honestly, it feels like an extra wasted RR slot. Here's the matchups. There were all played in a single style match, but in succession. Vs Claret sword: -lost. The early pressure was way too harsh, and having those extra g4 in hand hurts to keep the damahe in check. He went first, managed to get his drop set up pretty quickly, amd hit nemain on turn 1. I lost on a claret restand with force 2. Vs Revonn Lost. Basically, the instant he goes to revonn I lose. This deck doesn't plusses enough and doesn't minus your opponent enough to manage to make a dent. Nextage is decent here, as his hands are not super huge, so going force 2 helps, but this only makes the chronojet attack more manageable. Honestly, the deck loses to damage triggers, it feels like an old style accel deck. Lost to a galleas restand on the first revonn turn Vs Mordred Lost. Even tough this was MUCH less insane to fight compared to the other 2 (tough claret is a bit different, as it eithers high rolls you to hell or breaks), and way slower to start making actual plays, when it does, it has way too much kill potential. As previously stated, gear are lacking in plussing, and melem is not good enough. Gear has problems guarding high power swings, as it often leaves him in a situation where he cannot recoupe what he lost guarding. While it is clear that gear still needs solving, and more supports are coming out, the new chronojet stuff to me feels subpar. Never tought I would ever say these words coming from G, but honestly, chronofang I find is better than chronojet.

So if i was getting into the game, which would be the best to get budget-wise?

Agree with everything said in this video, but on a side note, I think GC has more potential to improve in the future. I guess we will just have to wait and see. 🤷‍♂️

I kinda wish Unite Reet Dragon couldve had one more effect or something for him. he's probably my favorite card in all this just because of the design and all that, looks amazing, but im not sure what effect to give him. Maybe just a retiring effect or something for a counterblast, the deck did want Altmile to have no more stuff of face-up damage, idk just throwing options out.

As a big fan of gears but not having the money to get the other gear decks I was able to get this gear deck and wasn’t too happy to hear it wasn’t great but it will be ok I’ll still enjoy it

Honestly speaking altmile is good as a first grade 3 ride in an aggro soul saver engine because it come online faster then first riding palamedes

Kinda disappointed on how the Chronojet trial deck turn out. Looking at the other trial decks I would say it was a missed opportunity for them to make this trial deck at least good enough to play without outside support.

Gear was probably made the worst due to Chronofang support plus if u use cards from the previous booster the deck’s pretty strong. Bushiroad probably also wants to make Gear Chronicle as expensive as possible too

Chronojet V seres require the Nextage support, if he gets the support he raise to a very high level if he don't yeah he is just low tier

Honestly, the new gears feel clunky. It's litteraly nextage or bust. All the other cards are just "everything is a grade 3" consistency boost I feel. I honestly think that up to now, chronofang feels more solid than chronojet. Also yes, the trial is bad designed. This is NOT what a deck designed to teach new players how to play the game should look like, especially when compared to the other 2.
